Just noticed DS-156 error after approval!?

I was just going to book my flight for my fiancee, and I noticed that the passport number I put on the DS-156 is incorrect by one number. We were already approved. So, wouldn't they have checked this information already and asked her to correct it if she needed to?

How can we change this without delaying the visa, and does it need to be changed?

Will it matter for the visa?

Personally I would call and point out the error. Little errors have become big problems for people before, even after approval. You don't want to worry about it or have issues with AOS later, etc.

5/28/12: Packet 3 Returned via DHL

6/5/12: Packet 3 Received by Consulate, said they'd emailed Packet 4 (haven't received)

8/2/12: Consulate Interview at Montreal
