Hi all,

My petition for my husband is still pending at VSC, however, I wanted to begin getting things together. He will need to obtain a police report from Lagos, Nigeria. However, he lives in Ghana (he lived in Nigeria in his early twenties). How much does the police report cost in Lagos? What will he need to send to Lagos? Fingerprints, etc? Thanks!

Nigeria police reports are only good for 3 months, so he will need to time it right..the best way to get the report is to go to Nigeria and can cost anywhere from 5000 to 8000 naira depending on his negotiating skills. The other way would be to go to www.nigeriacrb.com and download the form, get a police officer in Ghana to do the prints and send the form to a friend or family member in Nigeria to go to Ikoyi to get it. So , either he pays for a flight or pays through the nose for it and stays in Ghana. Good luck with your journey.

It would be difficult/time consuming for him to go there just for that. He has a friend in Lagos who will go for him. So, I should just download and send my husband the form to have fingerprinted in Ghana, then send that to his friend in Lagos?

Thanks- that really helps!

Hi godisgood74!

That sounds good! This is a whole new experience and is sooo extensive. My husband is getting the new versions of their birth certificates now, and someone is helping me get the certified copy of our marriage certificate from Abuja- so I'm just trying to get everything in order before the NOA2, so that I can zip through the NVC!

That is what we did. Its not cheap to do it that way, but it would cost for him to fly there, so 6 on one hand, half a dozen in the other. By the way, what part of Philly are you from?
