I'm having exactly the same problem. My husband filed his tax return in 2010 and not in 2009 and 2011...

Which box in q25 should we check? Both of them? Leaving them empty doesn't seem to be a great idea (as he actually filed 1 tax return) but checking the first or the second one (or both) is not 100% true either.

Did you put $0 in the years where no tax return was filed and write some explanation? How did you all finally do it? Did you receive any RFE because of this stupid question? I don't want to slow down the process so I wanted to verify with people with similar issues how they dealt with the problem.
