Sorry MOD didn't know where to post this. But anyway, me and my fiancee just got our visa approved, we're just waiting on 2GO to deliver the visa and her passport, then she's traveling back to manila to do that seminar at the embassy that you have to do. My main question is can I buy her a ticket for her flight over here. We had trouble once with Philippine Airlines once because I purchased a domestic ticket for her with her name, but i used my card to buy it, and they wouldn't issue her the boarding ticket without proof of the card. Which makes no sense, anyone else got some words of wisdom with this kind of stuff? I'm just worried if I buy her a Delta Airlines ticket, they'll hassle her at manila int'l airport about my card info and she wont get her boarding pass.

To protect the true credit card owner, we require presentation of the credit card used in purchasing tickets from this website at the ticket collection point or upon check-in. If the credit card owner is not part of the travelling party and is unable to present the credit card, CLEAR photocopies of the front of the credit card and the valid PHOTO ID of the credit card owner shall be required from the passengers at the ticket collection point or at check-in.

It shall be the responsibility of the credit card owner to ensure that the passenger(s) comply with this requirement otherwise the passenger(s) shall be denied boarding.

I used a travel agent here in Hawaii for my wife and daughter no problems with my CC or with her boarding in Manila. The agent took care of this for me CLEAR photocopies of the front of the credit card and the valid PHOTO ID

If you purchase the ticket online through DELTA. You will need to go to the airport ticket counter or ticket office location with the credit/debit card. They will then confirm and release the ticket. So when she is at NAIA they won't hassle or delay her from getting her ticket. Check with DELAT

Credit/Debit Card Presentation

To safeguard against credit/debit card fraud, the purchaser may have to show us the credit/debit card along with a valid photo ID. The time varies based on the billing address of the credit/debit card or the country of travel. If the purchaser is not traveling, they can show us their credit/debit card and ID at an airport ticket counter or another ticket office location, whichever is most convenient.

She will need to pay a NAIA International Departure Fee: PHP 550 mandatory at NAIA.

Also when you book your flight. Check to see if all airport taxes are include in the price of the ticket. If not, your fiancee will need to pay the " Filipino Travel Tax " of P1,620.

If you buy in US through agent and if they can confirm the payment and issue you a confirmed ticket than you should not have problem.

You can call Delta talk to agent and let them know what you trying to do they can do it for you.

Like pointed out, scan a copy of your credit card and your drivers license attach them in an email and send to your fiancee.

And as Wally said the seminar is CFO.

CFO:

http://www.cfo.gov.p...atid=140#ThirdA

Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: copies of; CENOMAR, certified birth certificate, bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together, from USC - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common. The "other documents" clause can be ANYTHING with those nit-wits at CFO.

** From the Family Code of the Philippines: it's 21-25 for advice and 18-21 for consent.

Art. 14. In case either or both of the contracting parties, not having been emancipated by a previous marriage, are between the ages of eighteen and twenty-one, they shall, in addition to the requirements of the preceding articles, exhibit to the local civil registrar, the consent to their marriage of their father, mother, surviving parent or guardian, or persons having legal charge of them, in the order mentioned. Such consent shall be manifested in writing by the interested party, who personally appears before the proper local civil registrar, or in the form of an affidavit made in the presence of two witnesses and attested before any official authorized by law to administer oaths. The personal manifestation shall be recorded in both applications for marriage license, and the affidavit, if one is executed instead, shall be attached to said applications. (61a)

Art. 15. Any contracting party between the age of twenty-one and twenty-five shall be obliged to ask their parents or guardian for advice upon the intended marriage. If they do not obtain such advice, or if it be unfavorable, the marriage license shall not be issued till after three months following the completion of the publication of the application therefor.A sworn statement by the contracting parties to the effect that such advice has been sought, together with the written advice given, if any, shall be attached to the application for marriage license. Should the parents or guardian refuse to give any advice, this fact shall be stated in the sworn statement.

We had the same type of issue. My fiancee was flying from Tacloban City on Cebu Pacific to meet me in Manila. Cebu Pacific required a copy of my credit card and ID. I simply scanned my drivers license and the credit card used to purchase her ticket and emailed them to her. She printed them out and had no problems at the airport. YES they did ask for the copies at check-in.

Just try to send the money over wire transfer and have her purchase a ticket in a travel agency, a trusted one. This is what I did and I didn't have to worry about showing my husband's card or whatsoever.

This should solve the problem.

I was going to say use Cebu Pacific because they don't require it. At least they never have when I've gotten tickets for my now wife. Could be because I've a long history with them now to.

If you get her tickets on Delta, Delta will require you to go to a ticket counter and present your credit card and ID before she attempts to check in. They claim this is to protect you, but it really only protects them. If your credit card is stolen and you report it within 24 hours, it costs you nothing if someone has used it. If your don't report it, the worst you're out is $50. I don't know for others, but for me its costs at least $50 in gas and parking to go to the airport here, and that doesn't consider the half day it uses up either. So their method of protecting me made sure I had to spend as much as the worst case could of been had they not protected me.

There have been many posts on this topic. If all you do is give her a copy of your credit card and your id with a letter, it may not be enough. It works for som, but some people have still been denied. However, you can easily do what we did and what others have done and posted about. After you purchase your ticket online, simply go to the airport near you before she travels. You can show them your ID and have them validate it and put a note in the computer. This is all they need. I still gave my fiance a copy of my credit card with my id and letter, but she did not need it. They did however check the computer to make sure my credit card had been validated by them.

-James

Oh. I almost forgot. My fiance traveled Delta too. I believe they have something on their website about validating credit cards. When I asked at the ticket counter in Portland, they knew exactly what I was talking about and promised me my validation was in the computer and there would be no problems. Everything went smoothly. Good luck.

I often use cebu pacific every time I go to manila and my husband is the one paying it online using his CC. all I do is present

a copy of confirmation email at the check-in counter w/ my ID and there is no questions ask regarding who paid or asking for a copy

of CC and ID of my hubby.
