Last Monday I had my medical. Tuesday I got a call to come back for more x-rays. I went back this Monday. The tech said they say a spot on the film and wanted to see what it was. The tech said he could still see it on these new pictures. It is now Wednesday night and I have not heard anything. I really want to know if I need the sputum tests. I want to do that asap if it needs to be done. Anyone out there have a spot on x-ray and was approved for their medical? If not, how long did the tests take to come back?

Aos:

10-01-12. Sent AOS, AP and EAD

11-28-12- Agent at Infopass called me to let me know service center approved my request.

Hey lisers76.....my fingers are crossed for you and pray'n everything works out. I'd be contacting my fam. doc. to further inquire about this 'spot" on the xray.

I worry too about my medical as I'm in good overall health but have had some concerns which meds control but are pretty costly....my 'free' med plan here covers them all but state side....there will be hefty premiums.

Wish I knew more about this medical.

I have to go back to Toronto in 2 weeks for even more chest x rays. Apparently I have baffled the radiologist. He has no idea what this spot is. I also made an appointment with my doctor for Tuesday to see if he can get the ball rolling for a ct scan (which I am assuming would be the next step if these next set of chest x rays still baffles them).

Lets look at the big picture--hopefully it is nothing, but maybe these chest xrays have caught something early--which never may have been caught, if you catch my drift (its late and im tired, lol) I know everyone is in a rush to get to the USA, but maybe in this case the medical actualy served a purpose, other than lightening ur purse/wallet b a few hundred $$$$$. Thinking positive vibes for ya

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I highly doubt it is anything to be concerned about. I have done a lot of research and the chance of this being anything that will affect me in any way is pretty nil. I think if this were any other radiologist (not a radiologist working for the US looking for TB) that they would report it as a incidental finding of no consquence. It is just frustrating.
