Money Laundering emails

I am wondering if anyone has been receiving emails from people saying they got your email address from visajourney.com and would like to be a friend. Then after 1-2 emails, they are asking you for banking information to help them transfer millions of dollars to your foreign account and you receive 30% of the money for your assistance.

I have received 3 emails this week and the emails are sent to my personal email address. Anyone have some suggestions or input on how I shall proceed with these emails? Obviously I am ignoring and deleting them but I do not want to be "associated" with such people.

Is your MSN address similar to your email address? That is still listed in your profile. Also, have you made any posts at all or any comments in anyone's profile where you have given them your email address? Spammers glean information like that from many different forum groups, which is why we strongly discourage anyone from posting private access information on this site. You don't have to be a member to read it, only to post to it. They would not be able to get your email address through Visa Journey unless it is publicly posed somewhere.

well, you can edit out the MSN address by clicking on your profile and then over on the far right click on Edit my Profile. It won't stop those who already have your email but it will stop future spammers.

Ah - just checked. You already have - good . It is actually sad that we have to take these precautions, but such is the internet.

I was trying to remove the email address from my mobile phone but everytime I did, it actually told me it was required with the * so I jumped on my laptop and it finally let me remove it.
