"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

This is one of the best articles I've read about the situation. It detailed a lot of information I didn't know.

Some interesting parts:

The police took only one photo at the scene of any of Mr. Zimmerman’s injuries — a full-face picture of him that showed a bloodied nose — before paramedics tended to him. It was shot on a department cellphone camera and was not downloaded for a few days, an oversight by the officer who took it.

Some Sanford officers were skeptical from the beginning about certain details of Mr. Zimmerman’s account. For instance, he told the police that Mr. Martin had punched him over and over again, but they questioned whether his injuries were consistent with the number of blows he claimed he received.

The official said he believed that the police, in the hours after the shooting, sought to determine whether Mr. Zimmerman was wanted for any crimes. But he said they did not have a complete background check in hand until midmorning the next day — after Mr. Zimmerman had been released

As for the officer at the scene who took the single full-face photo of Mr. Zimmerman — he suffered a nose fracture and other injuries during the struggle — he called an investigator “in a panic” over his failure to download it sooner, according to a person familiar with the case. Other photos of Mr. Zimmerman’s injuries were later shot at police headquarters, although he had been cleaned up by paramedics by then.

One witness said a police investigator twice declined her offer to show him the close and unobstructed vantage point from a partly opened bedroom window where she had watched and heard the struggle between Mr. Martin and Mr. Zimmerman. She also recalled telling him that night that she was haunted by the cries for help she believed came from Mr. Martin during the struggle. But she said the investigator seemed to have already formed an opinion about what had happened.

so what ridiculous label do you have for the morons that believe trayvon was an angel & did nothing wrong in this case?

Who said Trayvon was an angel? The voice inside your head? I didn't see that in this thread opined by anyone.

What's your experience as far as "normal actions" go when you were a member of your local neighborhood watch?

I am referring to abnormal actions as far as GEORGE ZIMMERMAN being a part of his Neighborhood Watch program. And it's actually the opinion of the National Director for Neighborhood Watch. In case you missed my earlier post , here is his direct quotes regarding this incident.

Chris Tutko, director of Neighborhood Watch for the National Sheriffs' Association, said Zimmerman broke some cardinal rules.

First, he approached a stranger he suspected of wrongdoing.

"If you see something suspicious, you report it, you step aside and you let law enforcement do their job," Tutko said. "This guy went way beyond the call of duty. At the least, he's overzealous."

Second, Zimmerman carried a handgun. Police departments and sheriff's offices that train volunteers advise them never to carry weapons — though Zimmerman broke no laws by doing so because he has a concealed-weapons permit.

"There's no reason to carry a gun," Tutko said.

What is also not normal, is the fact that he refuses to go to the hospital and the man had his head bashed in on the sidewalk (according to him) That's more than strange to me. Is that something you would refuse? and if so why? I can't imagine anyone in need of stitches to his head would refuse treatment at a hospital.

There's been 17 robberies in the last year in your neighborhood. I'd carry a gun too.

As far as refusing to go to the hospital? I would probably too. When you're anxious and shakey you don't want anyone touching you. Actually unless I truly felt like I was injured I wouldn't go to the hospital either... I was bumped by a car on my bike when I was 16 and refused to go to the hospital or to be looked at by paramedics. I was bruised and had some scrapes, but knew I didn't need to go to a hospital for that... Just because some need doctors to look at their boo boo every time, doesn't mean everyone does.

I see what you mean. I hardly ever go to the doctor either and have been banged up plenty of times when I didn't go to the hospital. But when I was bleeding from my head profusely from an accident, I thought it was probably a good idea to go to the hospital. lol Yeah, I guess I should have told them nah..that's ok, I'll go home and stick some ice on it.

Regarding a gun... noone is questioning anyone's right to HAVE and/or carry a gun. You refuse to see the point apparently. But I'll point it out again just for fun. He was advised not to follow Martin, he didn't listen. As head of his Neighborhood Watch program he should have known better than to pursue anyone...ESPECIALLY with a handgun. He ignored the rules of his own program and did as he wanted.

Very interesting. You've got to wonder why documenting Zimmerman's injuries was not handled with utmost importance, unless the attending officer felt there was nothing significant to document.

I read where Martin's family lawyer says that they have several witnesses who heard the pleas for help from Martin and some believe to have heard two shots fired. One right before Martin started telling for help and then the second which fatally wounded him. Also, there's a voice saying, "why," after that shot.

Sounds like the prosecution has a pretty solid case...

Martin would have more than just a small wound on his hands if he in fact was pummeling Zimmerman as claimed.

The prosecutors have a solid case? I take it you didn't even read that link you posted. Sometimes I'm amazed that you can even log onto the internet without a step by step how to guide.

I would love to unlease on this topic but I would probably get banned. Simply in my opinion as I have done security and participated in neighborhood watches. NUMBER ONE rule if you see something suspicious or criminal. DO NOT APPROACH OR CONFRONT ANY PERSON. You are to report it to the Police or Authorities. That is what we (US Citizen) and Mr. Zimmerman pay taxes for. The Instant he got out of the car, he took the law into his own hands. His hands now has the blood of a young youth on them.

It took a world wide out cries for something to be done. It was starting to look like the old south again. I have faith in the system not matter what the out-come of this trial.

Perhaps you missed the part where Zimmerman lost Martin and was heading back to his SUV?

He sure lost him, you mean ousted him.

Take in Mind these rules are subject to state and local laws.

Neighborhood Watch is:

A partnership between the community and the police to prevent crime.

Neighbors coming together to help each other and to address community

issues.

Citizens learning to identify suspicious activity and reporting the activity to

other neighbors and the police.

Members living on the same street or within line of sight, generally 5 – 25

homes per group.

Neighborhood Watch is not:

A citizens armed patrol.

A Vigilante group.

A law enforcement entity.

Reporting Suspicious Activity

Neighborhood Watch is founded on the principle that your group members know what activity is normal in your neighborhood. A police officer will not be able to identify a strange person or car as quickly as a resident.

Suspicious Persons

Do not open your door to strangers. Obviously, not every stranger who comes into your neighborhood is a criminal. However, criminals occasionally disguise themselves as door-to-door sales or repair workers. If you any question regarding the legitimacy of a salesperson at your door, call the Police. Look for the following red flags:

Salespersons or workers who go to the rear of a residence.

Unknown vehicles on your street that may be watching homes to determine when the owners are usually away.

Unknown individuals seemingly watching the home a senior citizen.

Individuals loitering in front of an unoccupied house or closed business.

Individuals peering into cars, especially in parking lots or on street.

Anyone looking into windows of a residence.

Anyone forcing entrance into a house or vehicle or the sound of breaking glass.

Anyone at your door without a reasonable explanation.

Heavy traffic to and from a residence, particularly if it occurs on a daily basis, which may be indicative of drug dealing.

Loitering around schools, parks or secluded areas or where children may congregate or a stranger offering a child any type of gift.

Loitering or driving through a neighborhood several times or appearing as delivery person with a wrong address.

Individuals in cars that are following the UPS delivery person in order to take the packages.

This is just a little bit of the neighborhood watch procedures, policies, conduct, reporting, communication etc.. rules

Let's see Travon was on his cellphone with a bag of settles, can of Ice Tea. Going to his family's house. Oh I forgot he wearing a Hoodie and he is black. Criminal!! Serious people wake up. Zimmerman did the first part correct reporting a suspicious person in the community to the police. The instant he disobey the 911 operators orders not to get out of his car, he put himself in harms way and took the law into his on hands.

God Does for those who do for themselves..!!
