"Let the police do their job" Do you have any idea why there are neighborhood watches in the first place? It's because there's not nearly enough police to respond to a call in a timely manor hence the fact that there were 17 home burglaries committed in that gated neighborhood in less than a years time.

As far as guns go...they are for protection. In this neck of the woods more people pack guns than don't pack. It protects people from getting their head bashed in. Zimmerman was well within Florida laws and the only reason this is going to trail is because of Obama, Eric Holder, Al Sharpton, Jess Jackson and the media.

And George Zimmerman was on the verge of getting his head bashed in correct?

Was that before or after he took the law into his own hands and decided to pursue a possibly dangerous criminal. And by the way, carrying a handgun in the course of a neighborhood watch patrol is not advised.

Proof: Chris Tutko, director of Neighborhood Watch for the National Sheriffs' Association, said Zimmerman broke some cardinal rules.

First, he approached a stranger he suspected of wrongdoing.

"If you see something suspicious, you report it, you step aside and you let law enforcement do their job," Tutko said. "This guy went way beyond the call of duty. At the least, he's overzealous."

Second, Zimmerman carried a handgun. Police departments and sheriff's offices that train volunteers advise them never to carry weapons — though Zimmerman broke no laws by doing so because he has a concealed-weapons permit.

Even the National Neighborhood watch say's this is out of line :bonk:

How did Zimmerman supposedly get his head pummeled enough to be in fear of his life enough to take a child's life by shooting him, and walk away with nary a concussion? Footballers in helmets get concussions all the time, it's a common injury that doesn't take that hard of a hit to happen, and in most cases is not life threatening. He walks away without even a slight one? Amazing!

Florida law: A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any other place where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly forceif he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony.

A broken nose and scalp lacerations probably provide all the evidence that Zimmerman needs to say he met the standard.

Zimmerman had a right to be there, had no duty to retreat, and once he was injured he was free to use deadly force. Following someone is not illegal, and comes nowhere close to meeting the definition of stalking in Florida. If you don't like Florida law, then change it. However, Zimmerman will be prosecuted under Florida law, and I suspect when Zimmermans attorney makes the motion to dismiss, it is all over.

The prosecutor in my opinion brought this case for political reasons. It is so weak that the liberal Harvard Professor Alan Dershowitz put it best: "If there are riots, it’s the prosecutor’s fault. Because she over-charged, raised expectations. No reasonable jury is going to convict based on the evidence I know of second degree murder. So this prosecutor not only may have suborned perjury, she may be responsible if there are going to be riots here for raising expectations to unreasonable levels."

He had sutures in the back of his head along with a broken nose. Google the photo's.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Interesting factoids: 1. He refused to go to the hospital for treatment the night of the accident.

He shows no sign of head wounds in police surveillance video at the station when they took him in either.

2. The next day he decides to go for treatment and he has lacerations to his head...but no concussion under examination. Lacerations by the way, can be self inflicted.

3. Zimmerman is a nutcase (in my opinion) but he's no dummy. He was dismissed from the police academy where he dreamed of being for so long. I'm sure he learned all about that stand your ground law and how it works. He could have simply added lacerations for evidence of attack. Sounds crazy? It happens ALL the time.

 That photo is more consistent with a self-inflicted injury, than with the head banging against the pavement and making one's way over to the grass.

It is? Link me to your medical degree.

Isn't it though? I thought the same thing. The cuts are definitely clean and very linear aren't they? I had a car accident where I had a laceration on the back of my head from smashing it against the car door frame. It didn't look nice and pretty like that one. :P

Ever heard of gravity? Why is there no blood above the lacerations, or any transfers of blood anywhere? If that photo was meant to tell a story, it doesn't tell the same story that Zimmerman has told. Head wounds bleed profusely until pressure is applied. I have seen enough of them to be familiar with them.
