the wording from the 'petition for divorce' paperwork was written by the lawyer.

as for affecting your ROC, I am unsure.

Usually, is best for two people to live together after marriage - this statement The parties have never lived together was wording put in by the attorney. It's up to you to get it changed, that wording, before the divorce decree is granted. There are several ways to get this changed, but the best way is to write a draft and send it to your wife's divorce attorney and see what happends.

Otherwise, you have to file other documents with the court, during the discovery phase or rebuttal phase.

I'm not a lawyer, nor do I play one on tv, but I do have some experience with divorce paperwork....

FWIW, the person who files for divorce controls the divorce paperwork. I have some sense, based on what you've written and not written, that her parents are driving something on behalf of their daughter. Be aware of that possibility, aye? Especially if the parents are ethnic Indian (from India).

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hi Thanks for all reply....

I just got the divorce notice from lawyer and it stated that reason for divorce is that

- The marriage is irretrievably broken.

- The parties have never lived together and may live separate and apart for at least two years.

Is it a red flag for me for filling ROC?

For a regular person it means jack squat, but to you Sir, with ROC in mind, it means everything. Get that specific line stricken post haste or regret it at leisure later, IMHO.

I make them to change it and now it is as below:

"The parties may live separate and apart for at least two years."

Does anyone think of anything wrong with this?
