Getting an EAD

Must we file this by mail or can we get it through quicker by filing at an InfoPass appointment. Seems like I've seen people talk about doing that. Any experiences with this?

You file by mail. Then if you still don't have your EAD after 90 days has passed since your EAD NOA, you can go for infopass and ask for interim EAD, that's a temporal EAD that can be used until the regular EAD will be finally issued.

But if you just go for infopass asking for EAD, without filing it by mail and waiting for 90 days at least, it won't work.

You need to file for your EAD with your AOS.... you cant get it any quicker....

If you make an infopass they will give you the form and tell you to mail it to the lockbox....

There is much contradicting information about this:

While holding a valid K-3 (not yet applied for AOS). As a valid K-3 visa holder you may apply for an EAD based solely on this status. You will apply as a category (a)(9), K3 non-immigrant spouse. (Where: by mail -- to Chicago ONLY; not to your local office)

Then I thought I'd seen people talking about just going in on an InfoPass.

I guess we'll just express mail it to Chi Town and wait it out.
