Can We Schedule the Interview without the NVC Letter?

We received our I-797 that shows she's been approved (NO02 was on April 18, 2012). I called earlier this week to see if i could get the case number, and it was given to me and I was told they were going to mail this to Manila soon and that I'd be told when it occurred via email. I've not seen any emails and as you can imagine I'm dying to schedule the interview. Is there a way to schedule the interview now with just the case number and the other info that we have?

My fear is that it will take forever for any mail to reach her small town in the provinces... time seems to be moving in slow motion waiting in agony for a simple letter to arrive.

Thanks.

I am not sure how it works for Manila, but in our case, we can't schedule the interview, they TELL you when your interview is, and you go that day.... I would suggest looking at your country specific info:

good luck, hope you here something soon. good.gif

Pay the VISA fee and then schedule your interview online. You will see that most dates for interviews are at least 3 weeks out. Your fiancee can do her medical 1-2 weeks before the interview. Others cannot speak on this because the Manila Embassy doesn't schedule the interview for you, you have to schedule it. Below is the packet for preparing for the interview. Good Luck.

You have your MNL Case#, you and your fiance can proceed with paying the visa fee at any BPI branch then schedule the interview. Do not wait around for any correspondence period. The ball is in your court now. Pay the visa fee, wait 4-24 hours afterwards to schedule the interview-if it does not work, keep trying every so often, then have your fiancee register online for the medical at St. Luke's. She'll also need to attend the CFO counseling session, either before or after the interview.

Prepare these documents also, http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/19452/public/Revised%20K1%20Instruction%20Packet%20_3__rtf2_005.pdf

Good luck!

If you have the MNL case number, I suggest you follow up with the Embassy in Manila. Then have your Fiancee go and pay for the interview at BPI then schedule online afterwards.

My Fiance actually received 2 eligibility letter from the Embassy, 1 of them arrived 1 week after she had schedule the interview the other the following week. It was a surprised cause we were not expecting the eligibility letter.

Yes by all means.... As the OP's say as soon as you have MNL you are cleared for takeoff. Pay at BPI and schedule online.

Wally's got a great post on 'how to do' - have you seen it, this month or last?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

have your MNL number, pay the BPI fee, then schedule online. Base 2 weeks from date they got hte case at NVC. (typically it mails in 2 to 3 days after NVC receives it. (one week to get to Embassy, and one week to process at the Embassy.) the instructions on how to schedule are good on Wally's post. (I found sending money to fiance via xoom and selecting BPI helps a lot.)

Then after scheduling Interview at Embassy, schedule St. Luke's (online is best), even if you are late in line, you still get an early number. (can't tell you how much time this saves in the morning when you first get there. we were back in line about 50 or so and Gretchen still got a number around 12 because of the per-registration.) Please keep in mind the requirements of St. Luke's when scheduling the medical. Please keep in mind the MEDICAL is the basis for the six month date on the Visa, not the interview itself. St. Lukes line starts at steps and goes south. (the line on the ramp is for returns/callbacks/etc on who have early times on 2nd day.) (there is a great cafe right across the street behind the photoshops.)

On the embassy interview, the day of the interview, stay near the road, do not go back to the Manila Bay wall. (this will save you time. When you line up, you will line up on the sidewalk near the southern entrance. K-1 visa is normally the line next to the grass of the 3 lines. the Tab folder works great. We used the tab binder last September as well as photobooks (you can get from Target or a photoshop or online. this was mainly because we were leaving the photos behind at her parents house.)

this process will go fast. congrats on getting this far. For embassy interview, you can read my review or other posts. We did it all in 4 days (st. Luke's, Embassy, CFO). But I do not recommend it for everyone. I took a risk because I knew what I was doing and had the ability to adjust. Fortunately, it paid off. Keep the faith. it will all work out.
