Hi, I applied for my husband (As a fiance visa). Everything went fine. Now we applied for the green card. (Our date is Feb 24). Out paperwork was sent to "California" (Why??)

And when can we think of getting his green card by? Also, can he go to school before he get his green card? (We filed our tax return together).

Thanks. Please as much info can help. He is trying to start a master in August. Thanks.

It seems to depend on the school he wants to attend - I was able to enroll in a couple of classes at the community college but had to pay out of state tuition (enrolled before the marriage and classes started the Monday after the ceremony). For the second semester I was able to actually get in state tuition with my marriage cert and the I-797 notice that I'm applying for green card. Your spouse should go to the school he's planning to attend and talk to their registrar / finance office, they should be able to tell you if he can start with his program and what documentation is required.

Re being sent to CSC - they seem to send some cases there, supposedly for "faster processing", however it seems to take longer than most of the local offices do (someone responded to my question about this a week or so ago that it currently take 6-8 months from transfer date), however you might end up not having an interview, which a lot of people seem to prefer. (I think I would have rather had my interview lined up by now than waiting another 3 or more months; especially since they haven't granted AP yet, only EAD).

Hope this helps a little.
