RWN use fear as their psychological weapon on a voting public that responds easily to emotional appeal over substance.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Cate said cross-referencing voter rolls with the highway department information could help better determine whether voters are U.S. citizens, but he added the information was sometimes incomplete.

"Their last contact with the highway department may have been four or five years ago and they could have had the chance to become a citizen since then," he said.

That is precisely where my wife would fit in since she wasn't a citizen when she obtained her FL driver's license but she has since been naturalized and registered to vote. So, that's one down. Bet you this is where the vast majority of this supposedly ineligible to vote population falls. But why get in the way of some good hysteria, eh?

Obama had a rally in Colorado, you need photo ID to get in.

But not to vote.

Nuff said.

Florida election authorities are examining about 180,000 people who they say may not be U.S. citizens but are registered to vote in the state, an official said on Friday.

"We're going to vet a list of 180,000 people to try to come up with a real number," said Chris Cate, a spokesman for Florida's Division of Elections. "We don't want to jump to conclusions without a thorough investigation."

Officials in Florida have so far identified more than 2,600 potential voters who may not be U.S. citizens and sent their information to local election authorities, Cate said.

Before anybody goes of the deep end, lets make careful note of the word may. If I'm reading the article correctly, the actual number of illegally registered voters brought to light so far is zero. I guess that headline wouldn't sell though.

At any rate its disingenous to be throwing the 180000 number around as if it's the actual number. They should really be talking about what the actual problem is - there is no reliable way to assess how many non citizens are registered to vote, how they ended up that way, or how many actually voted. In other words unless they can solve the how and why in all of this, they will never solve the who and where.

You mean the same fear that the Democratic party uses in race baiting? That if anyone but Democrats are elected "women's right will go away. Race rights will go away. Black Churches will burn, etc..."

Watch out before you step into a hole you can't climb out of.

Both parties are hypocrites and you know it.

Don't forget the dirty water, clean air, medicare, social security and tax cuts for the rich, boogeyman that gets dug up from the grave each election cycle.

Do moonbat left-wing nutjobs pay attention to the nonsense they spew forth! Your party could never get elected if they did not fear monger or told the truth about their destructive policies.

in Texas, when one renews the driver's license online, there's an auto-filled tickbox for automagically registering for a voter id card . If'n yer not paying attention and DO NOT untick it, well, you just declared yerself to be a citizen.

I wonder if this is the case in Florida?

Has caused some flak with folk in Texas this year, when filing for US Citizenship, it came up in the interview [we see you said you were a citizen, here's the proof, blah blah]

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

They could have used that title for the article. A little more accurate and a little less sensastional. Maybe they wanted to have a little more of a "stop the presses" moment.
