I was looking at the Immigration Timelines (at the top of the page in blue) I noticed that most of the people from these states were given an Interview for AOS

MI

CA

OR

TX

WA

IL

CO

HI

AZ

FL

NJ

NV

NY

AK

NM

GU

Don't forget to add OH for Ohio as we were interviewed after a speedy process letter was sent to us as well and actually, I met 4 couples who were interviewed as well in Cincinnati and Indiana that also received the letter too.

I'm inclined to think your home state has nothing to do with whether you'll be interviewed or not. We're in IL, no interview.

When I was looking over the AOS Timeline I found it odd that the larger states had the most people interviewing. Take Arizona for example so many had an interview. Looking at NC & SC not near as many interviewing. Believe me, I will be fine not having an interview :) Good luck to everyone in the AOS process, we all will agree we have a long wait for the green card :(

Hello all

Just thought I'd join the chatter as I am in the same boat as you all. It is frustrating because there is really no way to know what is going on.

I found this will looking for answers on VJ.

6.11)...What should we do during the time we are waiting for the Adjustment of Status interview?

A..Begin building your new life in the United States. Your EAD, Social Security number and passport (until you get a drivers license for identification) give you the means to get nearly anything you want, except a cup of coffee and the right to vote. Get to really know your new wife or husband. Get a job. Set up a joint checking account. Go exploring. Get a library card. Meet the relatives. Make new friends. Start up a new business. Try to shake off old ways of thinking about "how things are done", because things are going to be different.

I think that is a good start, it's pretty much what we did lol. We waited almost a year for our green card but if you have your EAD it wasn't much more to worry as he could start working etc. Just be so happy people that you are with your loved one finally, as so many here are still waiting and some never will. Enjoy your new life and family and start living your dreams, your green card will come in time.

Same story with us. Receipt date was December 14, 2011 and transferred to CSC January 6, 2012. I got my EAD and my biometrics done months ago and haven't heard anything since. I called the customer service line a month ago and they said that they were processing applications from November 29, 2011. I just called again today and they told me that it was the same date they were processing. Pretty frustrating, but there's nothing we can do. Haven't even had our wedding reception yet because I can't go back home.

We didn't apply for AP because we didn't think AOS would take this long have you consider applying for AP? We are considering it since my in laws really miss my husband. He is missing home alot.

Contact your senator's office. They can have the file pulled once your file has been at CSC for 6 months. Once your file has been pulled it will be processed within days.

I found this memo on the USCIS website which kind of explains the criteria for interview waiver for i485: http://www.uscis.gov...ntwvr010505.pdf

This one relates to the interview waiver criteria for ROC: http://www.uscis.gov...waivr062405.pdf

I've been in contact with my Senator's office. They relayed to me that the USCIS now is considering 8 to 9 months as standard processing time, and won't expedite us at 7 months. What a joke.

Try your other senator or congressman then. We just went through this, we did not ask for an expedite, we just had them inquire, for us. Within a week of getting the reply from our congressional aide, we had an approval on my wife's green card. The reply USCIS had given to our case was we would get a notice within 45 days. If your senator's aide is saying they won't do an inquiry until its 8 or 9 months, then use another and don't vote for that senator next time they're up for reelection.
