This question is specifically for those petitioning spouses (I-130) through the NVC then on to the US Embassy in Bogota.

Did you have your spouse's Spanish documents (birth certificate, police certificate) translated to English for NVC?

If you are doing a I-130 for your spouse, i assume you are married, you will not need to translate these documents for the NVC stage, only for the USCIS. once complete at NVC they will forward your documents to Bogota for completion at the embassy and they accept spanish documents. the comment by the previous post about adjustment of status would not apply if you are doing a Cr1 type visa. hence you would be ok. hope this hels.

Thanks colombianos lol.

I will send the NVC my wife's birth certificate and police record in their original Spanish context without English translations.

My wife will receive the CR1 so I know these documents will have to be translated within 2 years for ROC with USCIS.
