I-134 Notarized?

Hello everyone,

Does the I-134 form need to be notarized? My fiancee recieved the instructions of what she needs to bring for interview and it states the I-134 needs to notarized. I have not seen anyone else needing to have it notarized. Plus, looking at the form, there is no space available for someone to notarize it. Any input would be great.

Hi! If you go to the USCIS website and look at the instructions for the I-134 (here: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-134instr.pdf) it says, "Note: Signing Form I-134 is under penalty of perjury under U.S. law. For this reason, it is not necessary to sign Form I-134 before a notary, nor to have your signature notarized after you sign it."

I'm not sure what I would do though if I received instructions from an embassy to have it notarized though, that's kind of weird.

If she received specific instructions to have it notarized, then yes. I don't know how they'll work the certification on the tiny space either.. maybe they can do it on the back.

Generally, it does not need to be notarized. If she's received specific instructions, then she should follow them.
