I am from Aleppo, where the war is not affecting us. It is peaceful here and we have had only a couple of incidents, not like Idlib and Homs. We feel safe and will return.

'Thousands' protest in northern Syrian city of Aleppo

Thousands of people have taken to the streets in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo, activists say, in the biggest protests there since the revolt began.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said several people were injured by tear gas and live ammunition.

Protests were reported elsewhere, a day after activists called for rallies in solidarity with students in Aleppo.

Observers say anti-government sentiment is rising there, after security forces killed students in a raid in early May.

Looks like you left it too late.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Dear Harper

I cannot believe these charts. Why would US deny many many more visas from Great Britain (27.3%) than Mexico (12.8%)?

Because citizens of Great Britain can travel visa-free under the Visa Waiver Program. Anyone who is applying for a B2 visa in UK is ineligible for the VWP, and that ineligibility often makes them ineligible for B2 as well: they have crimes, past overstay, etc.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Because UK citizens don't need tourist visas to travel to the US. They can travel on the VWP. Those who are required to apply for B-2 tourist are ineligible for the VWP because they either 1. Have a criminal record, 2. Have past history of overstay/refused entry/refused visa/illegal work etc. 3. Are planning to stay more than 3 months.

The vast majority of British tourists are thus not included in that chart.
