hello,

can someone advise me what should i do now,i filled I-130 for my wife on 16 sep 2011,and till now i have not recieved any thing from vermont center!!

is this normal ? i called them yesterday and they told me that i am still on the normal processing time !!

what can you advise me my friends

i really thank you for your help

you received the noa-1 right. thats about normal for the 1-130 are you checking your uscis case status on line, it's eight months now you are getting close,

That's getting quite long. Are you a US citizen? IF so, Contact the ombudsman and/or your congressman and get some pressure on. Call USCIS and make a service request. Their online estimate is back to 5 months, so 8 is far outside current processing times, unless you're a permanent resident and not a citizen.

Here are current Vermont processing estimates:

5 months is normal processing time only for USA Citizens. I think LPR need to wait longer than this, other experts on VJ may know LPR applicant's wait time.

Its up to you whether you want to call USCIS Monday or not but your timeframe is not even on the Radar. As of now, it takes almost 15 months to get the petition ( I-130 for spouse of LPR) approved from USCIS. They are working on Jan 2011 Petition.

If you are eligible for Naturalization, that might be the best option to bring your spouse quicker. You can upgrade your I -130 as LPR to USC after your Naturalization Oath.

You already did a BIG step what you suppose to do, filling I -130. At this time, officially you cant do any thing beside WAIT....

I believe you already know but I would like to bring your attention:

Even your Petition is approved from USCIS ( let's say 15 months) it takes almost another 2 months to complete the process at National Visa Center ( NVC). Again, there will be WAITING GAME to get Visa....

A permanent resident may petition for his/her spouse and unmarried child(ren) of any age to immigrate to the United States. Congress has limited the number of relatives who may immigrate under these categories each year so there is generally a waiting period before an immigrant visa number becomes available.

the only time Visa will be immidately availabe for Spouse is USC filling I -130 .

Hence, we are looking almost 2 years to complete the whole process if things go smoothly....

So, the most important thing is to be mentally prepare for the whole process not only YOU but also your SPOUSE... Give your spouse how the process develop and Mainly TIME FRAME.....Do your best to visit his/her frequently as possible.......I know you dont miss a single day without Skypping...lol...

15 months for LPR to get I-130 ? seriously ?

I am LPR. CSC. I got mine approved in 5 months. That's true I have to wait at NVC for visa (2 years looking at the timeline).

Thats ture for VSC. Vermont is working on Jan 2011. CSC is way ahead in this category...working on August 2011 petition....and as you know it is the general time frame...if your petition got approved quicker; then take it...its BONUS...Consider yourself as LUCKY and your process went smoothly...and at the same time, I dont know what was the time frame when you filled your I -130 as LPR...
