Here is the deal. I was in Brazil more or less all last year. So I do not have a nice looking tax return and I am working a new job since I got back in Dec. 2011. I make 11/hr doing cunstruction. But for whatever reason my boss has us all as self employed, like sub contractors for him. Though he pays us hourly. It says that if you are self employed you have to submit last years tax returns. I can and will do this but it will be #######. As last year I was not self emplyed and worked only a few months in the states. My savings is pretty weak, only over 1k, and I am barely over poverty I think.

Can I claim a household size of 1 person when I am getting an apartment right before my fiance gets here so she can move in with me? I currently stay with family as to save money.

Your house hold size is TWO. You and your fiance. That is it.

Your family you live with does not count in your house hold size.

All that matters is your current income...so calculate your current pay per week and times by 52 weeks - that will be your income this year.

I also made less money last year as I was working on a Cruise Ship half the year, I told my fiance that if they asked to just explain that to them, but to ensure them that I am currently earning above the poverty limit. They did ask, and he told them the situation, and it seemed to be ok for them.

Your household size will only include the people that YOU suuport...YOU and your FIANCEE.
