The solution to that with me is to tell him it is pork. That way I can throw it out, even the "pork" wings.

   OMG...did you just say the PORK WINGS! I'm LMAO! I'm so glad its lunch at work!...this roar of laughter could have got me fired today! Hahahahah

Love this thread. Here I go....

You know your husband's African when he's able to fashion a "dress" out of a bed sheet. (me: "where the f is the bed sheet????" ..... Look up and see my husband walking around the house nekkid with a freakin bed sheet dress on!!!!)

   Mine thought my sleep pants (pink, purple and yellow plaid) was an outfit I was wearing out in the street with him somewhere. BTW...he kept those pants! LOL

You know your husband's African when he finishes cooking his food, leaves it in the burnt-to-a-crisp pot, on the stove, ALLLLLLLLL day!!! (holy hell, why do we even have a refrigerator???)

      Or...you know he's African when he just got finished eating then has company and expects you to cook again! Why Hell to the naw!...and the kitchen is the hottes place in the whole house! I had to remind him Americans cook once, if you ain't there...baby you don't eat!

You know you husband's African when HIS PANTS ARE SO FREAKIN TIGHT THAT YOU ALLLLLLWAYS KNOW HOW HE'S "HANGIN".

:bonk: I'm so thankful my husband does not show off all his glory. I'd have to kick so much Alabama a$$ over my man...just to prove my love (HA!)

You know your husband's African when he starts eating THE BONES in whatever animal it is that he is eating at the time! (..."the bones have juices! It's good for your eyes!!!!" - vomit)

I'm with you...major gag! My husband does the same thing!

You know your husband's African when he drives. (nuff said) Mine don't..nuff said!

You know your husband's African when he gives you a card but he signs his name at the top and your name at the bottom.

You know your husband's African when he mixes water with his pop. And drinks warm water. Again...yuck!

Yep...my husband is most def African. Shall I go on? Cause I could be here all night!

Yes...you should go on...I'm seriously cracking up!

Good luck with the AC. I'm the same and hubs doesn't deal well. He would rather TURN OFF the air and walk around naked then have the air on. Ummm, excuse me, I'm NOT going to walk around naked 24/7. And I'm sure as hell not going to make our guests take of their shoes AND clothing at the door. :bonk:

When you just can't get straigt who is really related to who and how. He has 21 siblings and he keeps telling me when he hangs up the phone " I was talking to my brother" when I ask him which one , it is some 3rd cousin twice removed at best. And then you get to "uncles" no wonder Lagos is a high fraud consulate. They are applying their relationship rules to our immigration forms. :bonk:

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

But its nothing like Nigerian time. 15 minutes late maybe 30. But Nigerian tine is " You haven't even got your tail in the shower and you are telling whoever on the phone you are on your way, knowing you have a 15 to 20 minute walk to the road to flag down a transport than sit in traffic (and this is in Port Harcourt). I don't know what my husband was like in Nigeria, but he's actually pretty punctual here. Maybe because when he first came he was very reliant on public transportation. And in Chicago, in the winter, go ahead and be late just ONE time. Sit there in 2 feet of snow waiting for the next bus. I dare ya! Bet you don't do it again!

OMG...and the way they tell you the time when you request it..."Gabriel,what time do you have?"...His reply..."Til 8"

What the hell does that mean exactly? He says any time past 7:30 is "Til 8". So if he sees it is 7:31 or 7:59, it's still "TIL 8"...R U 4 freaking real???? :bonk:

It's also said in some parts of the Caribbean. Can't explain it but I just know it means 'in a long time'.

I think because donkeys take a long time to move. I dunno.
