Even in hotels you find a 5 gallon buket and a mixing bowl You pour your water in the 5 gallon and then use the mixing bowl to pour it , think camping sponge bath.

Ha! OK, lolol. Omg...I would have died with laughter if I came home and found that sitting in my shower!!! they do make you laugh don't they? I know one thing that Ben does not miss, and that is hand washing his clothes. He doesn't miss that one bit, lol. Thank you for filling me in!

I actually just thought of another...You know your husband is African when you are not permitted in any way, shape, or form to throw away left overs of any kind...no matter how long they have been in the fridge. :D

The solution to that with me is to tell him it is pork. That way I can throw it out, even the "pork" wings.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

That won't work with my husband...he eats anything and everything. And, I am assuming your husband doesn't like pork??? Hec, I can't even throw out the "yucky stuff" that they put inside the turkey! You know...the neck, heart, liver, and God only knows whatever else is in there??!! He even eats that. Ummm, no thank you, not me...LOL. He boils it up and shares it with the dog... :dead::help:

Love this thread. Here I go....

You know your husband's African when he's able to fashion a "dress" out of a bed sheet. (me: "where the f is the bed sheet????" ..... Look up and see my husband walking around the house nekkid with a freakin bed sheet dress on!!!!)

You know your husband's African when he finishes cooking his food, leaves it in the burnt-to-a-crisp pot, on the stove, ALLLLLLLLL day!!! (holy hell, why do we even have a refrigerator???)

You know you husband's African when HIS PANTS ARE SO FREAKIN TIGHT THAT YOU ALLLLLLWAYS KNOW HOW HE'S "HANGIN".

You know your husband's African when he starts eating THE BONES in whatever animal it is that he is eating at the time! (..."the bones have juices! It's good for your eyes!!!!" - vomit)

You know your husband's African when he drives. (nuff said)

You know your husband's African when he gives you a card but he signs his name at the top and your name at the bottom.

You know your husband's African when he mixes water with his pop. And drinks warm water.

Yep...my husband is most def African. Shall I go on? Cause I could be here all night!

We're not married (yet!), but some funny things so far...

Last week, he traveled to another town for work. The hotel he stayed in had a hot shower, and he was telling me about how much he prefers the basin bath with cold water he's used to at home. (I told him that he is more than welcome to use only the cold tap in the shower here in Boston in January, haha.)

Oh, and he told me that he wouldn't mind inviting the whole world to our wedding. I want something as closely akin to a Ugandan-style wedding as possible, with no sit-down $100/plate dinners or worries about head count, so that would suit me just fine. At least, all the *nice* people in the whole world.

That's funny.

I've got a wedding planning story, too.

2 weeks before 100+ people from all over the country were scheduled to attend our wedding, our venue fell through. Holy hell. I wanted to die, to say the least. Through my blubbering sobs, we tried desperately to figure out a new place for our wedding. A few days later my husband comes home all excited because he has "the perfect idea" for our venue. This is how the story goes:

Husband KC walks in the house.

I'm a mess as I'm sure any bride would be a week and a half before their wedding with no venue.

KC: I have the perfect idea for where we can have our wedding!!!!!!

Me: Really?!?!?! WHERE????

KC: over by lincolnwood (a mall close to our house).

Me: Lincolnwood? Like, the mall?

KC: yeah, it's a restaurant in the mall. It's HUGE and has a big open floor for dancing!!!!

Me: but....in the MALL??? . The only restaurant I know in the mall is Ruby Tuesdays!?!?

KC: noooooo, not Ruby Tuesday's. This is upstairs. Right at the top of the escalators.

Me: (confused as #### look on my face) ...............ummm, are you talking about the FOOD COURT???? LIKE WITH ALL THE FOOD STANDS AROUND THE OUTSIDE OF THE BIG OPEN ROOM?!?!?!?!

KC: Yesssssssssss!!!!!

Me: (run into the bathroom crying).

OMG.... This guy wanted to have our wedding at the mother f'in food court!!!!! :bonk: Now that it is over with and everything turned out great, it's a hilarious story. At the time, WANTED TO DIE!!!

So hubby is clothes hoarding. I noted some items where never being used and asked where did such and such go. He stated they are in his "boxes" for when he travels to Nigeria. Apparently the nicest items are reserved for impressing the folks back home. Note that he has been here 2 years and not gone home yet and this appears to have started day 1.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Good luck with the AC. I'm the same and hubs doesn't deal well. He would rather TURN OFF the air and walk around naked then have the air on. Ummm, excuse me, I'm NOT going to walk around naked 24/7.
