This whole situation has made me feel so isolated. I can't wait for it to be over. I'm here looking for people in a similar situation.. nobody quite understands how hard this all is. Here's my story in a nutshell.

I'm Sarah, about to turn 27.. Came to US in 2007 with f1 visa from England, in great academic standing. Met my husband in 2009, we married in Jan of 2011 and had our first child in May 2011. Due to the economy my student loan was canceled after the first yr in school and in 2010 I went out of status because I could not pay anymore. 2 weeks after our baby was born, ICE came to our home at 6am and took me into custody. I had been out of status for about 4 months, we were waiting for my husband's citizenship to come through which, ironically arrived the following week. Now, I'm in deportation proceedings and my master hearing is in one month. I don't have any criminal record and have been in no trouble nor done anything illegal. We sent off our I-130 on November 1 2011 and the only update so far is that it has been transfered to a local field office. I presume we will be interviewed soon. Our baby girl is 1 now. I don't have a valid id, no driver's license and ICE took my passport. Obviously it is very difficult to take my child places [husband works full time] without a license, or any form of in-date id. I also have many family members in England who I want to see and who I want to meet my little girl. We figured this would be fixed by now; I have relatives who are 85+ years old and I'm afraid they may never meet my baby.

Yuck, this is so hard. I really hope to meet new friends, and I sincerely wish everyone the best with your journeys.

Hello friend! I'm sorry to hear you are having these problems. This too shall pass. You mentioned that you were waiting for your husband's citizenship to come through. From what country is your husband originally from?

He's from Mexico but he came to the US when he was a little boy. He is a citizen now and has been since everything happened. Thanks all for the positive words. I posted a few questions in the adjustment of status from f1 category, if any of you know anything about that I'd appreciate any help at all. Thank you again!

I know you've probably thought of this - but why not bring your spouse back to England?

I'm a British/American citizen marrying a Dane and I would happily live in England, America, or Denmark or just about anywhere as long as it was with him...

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

The rules to bring a spouse to England are quite strict and very difficult to get around unless youre rolling in the Benjamins...

Anyway, good luck to you and i hope it all works out for your family. Your daughter is about the same age as mine, just enjoy her growing up for now and look to the future :)

Thanks everyone! Yes we planned on trying to go back to England if it came down to that. My deportation case was closed at my master hearing. I am extremely happy today, even with an extremely grumpy little girl!

Now Sarah, You can sit back a little and enjoy some of our fine southern CA sunshine. I hope that your weekend is relaxing with all that unresloved stuff now gone. You still need to file but that is just now part of the process. Did they give you back your passport? What is next for you guys now?
