Hello all fellow ROC friends

Just have one question I hope someone can help me with.

I'm waiting for my card, but we are going away for a couple of weeks on vacation. Is the card just delivered in the mail or does someone have to sign a paper when they deliver it?????

Have a great day. Hang in there

Thank you. I will defenetly have someone check our mailbox daily.

Have you considered putting a hold on your mail and having it all delivered the day you return? This is available free through USPS website to most addresses.

The best option is to have your local post office collect all your mail while you are on vacations! We do this all the time. It's safe and nothing will get lost or stolen. You can do it online and then pick it up when you get back or even have them deliver it to you.

AOS from B1/B2:

January 12 - I-130 & I-485 Delivered

January 24 - Both checks cashed

January 26 - Both NoAs received

February 9 - Biometrics letter received

February 17 - Biometrics appointment

January 18 - Green Card Ordered (No Interview)

January 22 - Green Card Mailed

USCIS's started sending GC's by USPS with "Pick-up & Delivery Confirmation".

If you create an account on USCIS site by entering your Receipt # (from Bio App. Letter) & you check OK in e-mail.

You will track your card by getting e-mail from USCIS. So it does not matter wherever you are in the world, as long as you periodically check your e-mail,

when the card arrives, you can tell one of your buddies/neighbors/relatives to get it from your mail box.

FYI, if it is lost after delivered by USPS, you have to file I-90 & wait for about 5 months for replacement, on top of that you have to pay $450.

Here is the real e-mail from USCIS when my co-worker's card was delivered on May, 05 2012.

The last processing action taken on your case

Receipt Number: LIN0123456789

Application Type: I90 , APPLICATION TO REPLACE ALIEN REGISTRATION CARD

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

The USPS reported that your new card was delivered on May 5, 2012, directly to the address we had on file. If you did not receive your card, or have any questions, please call our customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

If you do not receive your document, please contact our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.
