Hello all,

I entered the US on a K1 fiancee visa and recently got married.

I am currently applying for a green card by filling out the following forms,

I-485

G-325A

I-693

I-864

I-765

G-1145

I would like to change my last name to my husbands last name and my middle name to my maiden name.

i.e.

[1] Mary Louise Parker >> change name to

>> [2] Mary Parker Thomas

format (first, middle, last)

I already have a SS card with my single name on it, and am planning to do a name change asap on the SS card. Our marriage license in New Jersey only has our single names on it and does not have a section that states wife will take on my last name or not. However it does state that the marriage certificate can be used for an official name change.

I've searched the polls and it seems that last name is not a problem, but the info on the middle name is confusing.

Would it be ok to fill out all forms using the second name (different middle AND last name)?

I would be sure to mention her original name in sections where they have asked for previous names.
