I arrived at the Consulate a little later than I had wanted to - around 6:50AM. There were a few people there already, maybe 5 groups. Get there early! I spotted a woman with a huge purse and a man with a laptop bag ahead in the line. "They'll get turned away and I'll move up in the queue!" I thought to myself, and which was correct.

Congrats!! But I couldn't help reading this and thinking.. awww.. you knew they would get turned away and didn't speak up and say anything?

Congrats!! But I couldn't help reading this and thinking.. awww.. you knew they would get turned away and didn't speak up and say anything?

Well I found out later one of them didn't even have a hotel room :\ The gentleman arrived once we were all in the waiting area for the elevator, and the lady got back after we'd gotten upstairs. There are signs in the building visible in the doors as well as notices about it on the consulate website...

Check Google... "hotels near 1155 rue st alexandre montreal" or whatever the address is.

Or go to any travel site and you can map them there and also find deals.

There was a Travelodge across the street from Zero1 - about an 8 minute walk from the consulate.

And, was it reasonable? I'm trying to find a room with 2 beds (not a suite) that's reasonably priced and is bugfree. Did some research today and some hotels are sold out for the date....others only have suites available...kind of seems foolish to arrive around midnight and checking out at 6am for a suite!!!!

I will be driving so I have a car that will need parking!!

Sherbrooke isn't far :) The city is very walkable, so you might as well smell some roses while you're there.
