Hi Everyone,

I have a question regarding an F2A processing time ?

I got an email on March 31 stating that my case is now eligible for processing.

Me and my husband was so happy and we start the process right away.

We paid both AOS and IV fee and send all the applications with in 3 weeks period of time.

We were missing some documents and they send us with a checklist in a week.

we send the checklist on May 2, which is six days ago.

Now that we provided all the information , based from what we read online we were waiting for our interview date.I couldn't be patient so i decided to call them today just to check if all documents are in and how far we are looking as far as interview schedule.

A guy got my call and he told me my case is waiting for a visa.

I told him we already gave an okay from NVC to start processing our visa and we are waiting for interview date.

He said well, He said you case is waiting for a visa now. When visa is available we will send you an interview date???

I am so confused .. from all the time line i have been reading on the post.

If you start processing and you provide all the forms and documents to NVC the next step is to wait for interview?

Could someone please explain this to me or if someone has been on same Boat ..it will help.

I appreciate for you patient on reading my post . thanks

A year ago they told us they will contact us when a visa is available to start processing.

I am an LPR , I will be eligible to apply this month for Naturalization

The immigrant visa petition recently filed on your behalf is now eligible for further processing [/b][/b][/u]at the

National Visa Center (NVC). You will need the following identification numbers to carry out the next

steps in the immigration process:[/u]

i got this email from them a month ago and we start our processing

Paid AOS :

Paid IV fee:

sent Affidavit of support

sent Application for Alien

got a checklist with missing doucmetns

and sent by May 02:all the checklist

My question is why did they started the process then. All the posts i have been reading about the is

the moment they start the process they go straight all the way through the interview.

My question is do they normally start processing the case before visa is available.

yes, it is quite normal to start processing several months before the visa number becomes available. You reacted right away and paid the fees etc, but many people need some time to get their documents together and find the money for fees.

Check the Visa Bulletin. DOS/NVC is processing up to Dec 2009 PD as of May 2012. It will take longer time for your PD to become current.

For the moment, becoming USC and bringing ur husband under IR1 is fastest route for you. This is because you are eligible to apply to become USC this month.

If you have children, then you would also need apply them using separate I-130 to USCIS.

Hi,

As per my understanding of the process, everything can be accepted and you will need to wait for a visa to be available under priority 2A (after US citizen children). However, you mention in the subject line that you are close to becoming a USC, once that happens you will be able to upgrade your petition and a VISA number will be available at once.

Good Luck.

USCIS:

06/06/2012: Sent I-130 to VSC (as LPR)

06/08/2012: NOA1 (Priority Date)

06/12/2012: Touched

08/20/2012: Mailed VSC request for Upgrade to CR1

08/23/2012: Opened Request with USCIS for Upgrade to CR1

08/27/2012: Got Email confirming upgrade to IR1/CR1

11/13/2012: NOA2

NVC:

11/16/2012: NVC Received (NVC # not ready)

11/19/2012: BOG number/IIN - Gave emails

11/20/2012: AOS bill invoiced

11/20/2012: AOS bill paid shows in process

11/21/2012: AOS package sent

11/21/2012: AOS bill shows PAID

Hi there,

Congratulations on becoming a US citizen, the recent VB was depressing, that's the reason why

we are looking into upgrading from F2 to IR, can you share your timeline on your application

for naturalization? My hubby is eligible to file on 10/10/12 and i was wondering how long (roughly)

to finish the processing.

Your help and information would be greatly appreciated..thanks!

Contact the agency that has the case to upgrade. It's either USCIS, the NVC, or the US Embassy.

You will need to provide proof that you are a US citizen; photocopy of your naturalization certificate or US passport. Include the case number, your name and address, and your husband's name and address. Explain that you have obtained US citizen and make a request to upgrade.
