<BR>Yeah that I knew and it is a crumby law too but as far as filing or mailing in the I-129 before that waiting period is up. I will have the final divorce decree(lol not sure of the spelling)before the waiting period starts. Seeing as it does not say that I can not get engaged within 6 months there should be no problem?? <BR><BR><BR>You must be "free to marry" at the time you file application. It would be illegal to marry before 6 months if your divorce is approved in Wis, therefore you petition would not get approved. Typically there is another certificate issued by the courts once the divorce is final and waiting period ends. They would be looking for this, not the signed agreement. My waiting period was 90 days, and only then was another certificate available, and so states as of "this day" my divorce is final and absloute (90 days after signed agreement) Edited May 9, 2012 by L+T
