Hey VJ friends!

Last week on May 2nd I received an email saying I was scheduled for Oath Ceremony and a letter was sent.

The thing is, I didn't get anything yet. I checked my mailbox today and I was sure it would be there but nothing. For my interview letter it took 5 days including weekend to get here and this one has been almost a week. Should I be worried?

I know there's a Naturalization Ceremony this Friday but I don't know if I would be scheduled for it since I got scheduled last week. Another question is how long does it take for the Ceremony after you get the letter.

Thanks in advance.

Here's a copy of my email I got on 05/02/2012:

I think it would be unlikely they would schedule you for an oath that soon. Have you tried calling USCIS? If you ask to speak to an ISO they should be able to confirm to you when the oath ceremony is.

Thx fot the reply. I'm pretty sure it was sent. My worry is the mail service. I've gotten some stuff addressed to other people but I return them to my mailbox so they can send them to the right people. But I don't know if everybody does this.

If you don't get the letter by the end of the week, give them a call.

To immigration or Post Office?

I'm sure it was sent to you, it will probably turn up soon. Give it until the end of the week or the start of next week. It is very unlikely they would give you such short notice for the oath ceremony, but if you want to check if the ceremony is this Friday then call USCIS, they should be able to tell you when the ceremony is.

Look at your timeline. It's long beyond imagination. God bless you.

Amen! Yes, it's been a loooong journey. I named my application Lazarus because it came back to life again. :D

Sure I will, thank you. And I hope your goes fast. hehehe

Mine I can blame on my fingerprints (not readable by the system) and kind of myself last year. Last year we had problems with our kitty that got really sick for several months, had treatment, I was barely sleeping to feed him during the night but he ended up passing away (he was our baby :( ). I didn't want to deal with anything, then by the end of the year I got really sick, my husband got sick too. Anyways, thank God now, we are well, we have another kitty and we love him and Lazarus is heading to the end. :)

Aww, I'm sorry to hear about your bad luck. I love our cats very much, I can only imagine how horrible that was for you both. At least now your journey is finally coming to an end! Time to celebrate!

Yes, thank God!

Another thing is that when I became Permanent Resident my father in law asked me if I was happy for being "American". I said I wasn't American, but Permanent Resident but when I got Naturalized we would take him out for dinner and then he could celebrate with us. But he passed away in December 2010. :( And that kitty we had adopted was his kitty, we adopted him after he passed. :( So it was very sad and brought up a lot of memories. But I will offer him the day of my Naturalization and I know in Heaven, dad will be very happy. :)

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure he would be very proud of your progress, especially with the tricky path you had to take to get to this point!

USCIS. The post office can't help you, unless it wasn't delivered for some reason.
