I am a GC holder (17 months). My state insurance is temperarly stopped until I get citizenship or 3-5 years as a GC holder.

My question is my in law is a joint sponsor for my visa so am I included to their medical coverage insurance they getting from their work?

Pls I need helpful answers.

No your not included in their medical just because they are a joint sponsor. Joint sponsor means all they do is pay back the government if you use means tested benefits.

You should contact insurance providers and get some health insurance.

I would think not because the co sponsorship is a contract between your inlaw and the government, and it has nothing to do with insurance.

You'll need to either get a job that provides insurance, or get it on your own through an insurance agent. Your sister's group plan will not cover you.

Most health insurance plans offered by an employer cover the employee, and then maybe their spouse and any kids. Anyone outside of that wouldn't be eligible.
