Well I got a short email when I woke up, he wrote it from Sydney airport and he got on the flight from Sydney to Melbourne about an hour ago so I don't have any details (until he gets home and talks to me!) but he was APPROOOOOVVVVEEEEDDDDD!!!! They said it would be a few days until he gets his visa but that they would email him when they send it off. I can't wait, he could be here in two weeks or less!!

Thank you!!! Oh another question I had, with his POE, we found a cheap one way flight but it stops off in South Korea before heading onto the US, is this bad for his POE? SHould we avoid this?

South Korea is nice stop for your POE-- especially if it's a direct flight (long hours with KE) to the east coast(friendly atmosphere) - JFK or Newark-- I don't want SFO much- most immig officers there are chinese quite unfriendly...as to my experience...

Congratulations!! We were also approved yesterday, it was soooo exciting!!

To anyone else about to have an interview at the Sydney consulate, I was told something very interesting by the lady who initially went through my documents. She said that since I fly next week and need my passport back quickly I should have brought in an express post bag, despite being told to create a profile in my Packet 4 email. She said that creating a profile would take about a week to get my visa to me whereas with a post bag I would get it the next day. I was lucky that she waited while I ran to the post office in Martin Place.

Moral of my story, if you want to be in the US yesterday, make sure you take a 3kg platinum post bag to your interview in Sydney(they insisted that it be that exact type!)

Cheers :)

Today I went to talk to consulate about my 'missing passport', luckily i got to talk to a lady who chased it up for me.

---i asked her why some officers allow pick up while others don't. She doesn't know why.

---I asked if not providing our own envelop is ok, she said yeah, provide your own is an extra step for their staff, so contrary to what Skyenz said.

:blink::angry::blink:all those different regulations/standards/rules among the officers are just so frustrating!

and my visa and passport is still at Baulkham Hills Post Office!!!!! jeez.... she said it's their distribution centre.
