Hello all,

A couple of questions regarding the final steps at NVC.

Our expedite request was approved on Friday 5/4. I called NVC today and I was told our case was completed today and will be forwarded to the embassy. Yay!

1. I asked the operator about not receiving a "case complete" email. She stated that I will not receive an email. Is that odd? Doesn't everybody receive a "case complete" email?

2. Who will send the interview appointment letter; NVC or embassy? I understand normally you should get the notice from NVC but the operator was insinuating that I will hear from the consulate!

3. What time frame should we expect for the interview date?

I will call again tomorrow and may be I will get an operator who can/will explain things more clearly, but I thought some of the veterans here might chime in with better answers anyway.

Thank you.

Nothing is complete other than the processing at the NVC. Your NVC portion was expedited. Now it's on to the embassy.

Only those that do Electronic Processing through NVC get a case complete email.

2. Who will send the interview appointment letter; NVC or embassy? I understand normally you should get the notice from NVC but the operator was insinuating that I will hear from the consulate!

The consulate will send the interview letter to you because you skipped over the NVC stage with the expedite. All your documents will be submitted and your fees paid at the interview.

3. What time frame should we expect for the interview date?

Look up times lines for your Consulate/Embassy. It varies from each.

I will call again tomorrow and may be I will get an operator who can/will explain things more clearly, but I thought some of the veterans here might chime in with better answers anyway.

Because of the expedite, NVC will no longer be dealing with your case. You should call DoS (department of state) for any case status updates.

Thank you.

Thank you sheeshkabelle for the clarifications.

I just want to point out that the expedite was approved after all the NVC processing was completed. I did pay AOS and IV fees, I sent both AOS and IV packages and they were reviewed and accepted.

So my understanding was they will just expedite scheduling the interview. I did look at the Cairo interview schedule but I guess my question was how long (roughly) does it take to schedule an expedited interview?

I will dig out DOS # and contact them. Thanks once again.

You're good to go then! I know one person that got the expedited interview, and it was scheduled in three weeks from her case complete, but that was Montreal.

1. On my part, i don't received any mail coming from nvc, stating that our case is been completed. We only knew it was approved and just waiting for the date of the interview, when we called them.

2. the nvc will set the interview date for cr-1, just wait

3. if your case is completed today, maybe next month...u may have your interview

I called NVC yesterday and was told that they should be scheduling for our interview this week and that I should call back by the end of the week or early next week. Not sure what kind of timeline to expect with an expedited interview scheduling... ahmed_f did so, but people with similar timelines received dates with similar times as them... not sure how an expedite works at this point especially if ur beyond the NVC stages... we'll find out soon hopefully
