Hello VJ Family,

I need you help please,

My visa type is CR1.

STATE: New jersey

today i received my welcome letter from USCIS and its says that my card will be delivered within 30 days, is that card like the greencard? permanent residency card?

When we went to Social Security office, they said that i cant get SSN for now because they need my GC or PRC but i some experience online that they got their eventho they dont have the GC and PRC yet.

please help!

The green card is the permanent residency card. with a CR-1 you were eligible for a green card as soon as you made your entry into the US.

If it has been three weeks since you arrived, you can take your passport with the visa (which is your temporary green card) and apply for a social security number at a local social security office.
