Can I go back to school during AOS?

I hope somebody can help me with my question: I am doing AOS from F-1, currently on OPT, recently received a letter that I was accepted to the phd program I applied earlier, but since I am not F-1 anymore and not LPR yet, can I go back to school?

AOS from F-1

February 2011 - Married to USC

(Day 0) 04/19/12 - I-130, I-485, I-765 sent via USPS express mail

(Day 1) 04/20/12 - package delivered

(Day 7) 04/26/12 - text message and e-mail received

(Day 8) 04/27/12 - checks cashed

(Day 11) 04/30/12 - NOA received

(Day 35) 05/24/12 - biometrics appointment letter for June 18

(Day 61) 06/19/12 - interview was scheduled for July 12!!!!!

(Day 64) 06/22/12 - EAD card production ordered on June 22

(Day 69) 06/27/12 - EAD card production ordered on June 27 (second time)

(Day 74) 07/02/12 - EAD card received

(Day 84) 07/12/12 - Interview, approved on spot!

(Day 92) 07/20/12 - Card received in the mail

I came here on B1 B2 visa and filled the AOS package,once you got your EAD and SS number you can go to school right away only paper you need to show them with the card is the proof that you dont have criminal record.I hope this info helped you.Sorry for bad english,still learning.

Yes you can. School is welcoming you as long as you can afford the tuition fee.

My husband is doing the same thing you want to. We are adjusting from an F-1, and he is currently a student. So yes :)

Day 0 - 2 May 2012 Mailed AOS package overnight delivery
Day 139 - 17 September 2012 Interview & APPROVED on the Spot!! :)
Day 145 - 23 September 2012 Received Green Card!

ROC - Eligible June 19 2014

Day 0 - 18 June 2014 Mailed ROC package via 2 day priority

Day 42 - 29 July 2014 Approval and Card Production Email

Day 49 - 5 August 2014 Received Green Card

The official USCIS stance on this...I am thinking it is probably the same for F-1...

As long as an H-1B, H-1C, and L-1 nonimmigrant remains compliant with his or her nonimmigrant classification, including restrictions on periods of stay, changes in employers, and conditions of employment, the mere fact that he or she has filed an application for adjustment of status does not render him or her ineligible for an extension of nonimmigrant status. Similarly, the mere fact than an alien has filed an application for adjustment of status does not make him or her ineligible for nonimmigrant classif ication as an H-1B, H-1C, or L-1.
