Do I still need to translate the documents like birth certificate etc that will be send to the NVC ?

Thanks

Thanks for your reply.

What do you mean by "copy"? We must send originals of everything . I have done petitions in the past and as far as I remember I didn't translate anything to the NVC .

Only time I translated was for my naturalization- because interview was held in USA.

Any other opinions ??? Please help me I just want to do everything as fast as possible :-)

Sim vc precisa fazer a traducao...did you translate any document when you sent her I-130? Lembre-se that she will need her Police certificate from Brazil and you will need to translate as well...by the way anything that is not in english need to be translated!

Anything going to NVC needs to be translated. Anything that is embassy/consulate only can typically be in the native language.

Obrigada

See that's why I am confused . USCIS website says this :

"All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations and submitted to the NVC"

So it can be in English OR the language of the Country that the petition is being made !!! In our case Brazil right ?

I had no idea a lot people are confused like me . As more I google it more questions about the same issue I find .

Yeah it's confusing but at NVC send everything with translations and originals together com uma fotocopia of each original you send so they will keep as fotocopias and return the originals at your mom's interview!! Anything just send me any question on my inbox.

Boa sorte

Good luck

Thank you guys !!!

NVC told me not to translate if documents are in Portuguese but I think I will do it just in case .

A PDF printed certified translation should be fine or should I send a hard copy??

Have a blessed day :)

Que eu saiba voce deve submeter traducao juramentada de todos os documentos brasileiros (certidao de nascimento ou casamento).

As far as I know every document should be translated by a certified translator (birth certificate and marriage license)....It doesn't hurt to have everything.

Boa sorte
