Hello all,

I am fairly new in this forum and I am seeking advice as well as past experience comments on the VAWA Self petition process.

Short story.

I entered the US on a B1B2 I had had since 2004, never overstayed and never intended to immigrate. Until I married an AMCIT

in 2010 and decided to stay to remain by her side. All happiness and colorful during the dating period and subsequent mariage.

As soon as I had my work permit, hell unleashed upon me and I fell on an downward emotional and mental spiral for a year, until I was left broke, emotionally scared and with my future unclear; not to mention commitments I endured while living here.

My wife simply decided to pressure my weakpoint when I broke the tie and woke up from the destructive enviroment I was living, which was my immigration status. There is way more!

I filed for VAWA on Feb 2012, with all I had. These things are complex to prove. I am confident that I am not in persue of this via because it seems like sure way to relief, rather because I did nothing wrong and is a way put things back where they where.

Any way, its May, no Prima Facie, no action on denied I-130, I-485, nothing. Divorce is on its way and still in the air.

Can anyon tell me what I can expect? what can this delay mean?

**** Moving from CR-1v forum as OP is already in the USA to Effects of Major Changes *****

When did your wife file I-130/ I-485? Why was it denied?

What evidence of abuse (doctor letters, police reports) do you have?

I do know of males who have been approved under VAWA, but yes, it can be more difficult.
