Pretty please do a POE review? We are going through Boston on April 16th.

Tierce here. I still have to do reviews for both the embassy and POE, but the POE was simple and easy. I didn't have to go through the second room, just had my visa file run through and stamped by one of the officers at the main area. He asked where I was headed, told me I had 90 days to get married, took the usual fingerprints and photo, and sent me on my way. Very smooth, took about 5-10 minutes--there was a family of four visiting through ESTA (visa waiver) ahead of me, and they took longer than I did. After all that worry, it almost felt anticlimactic!

Good luck!

Hey guys

Just thought I'd let you know that I FINALLY had my interview today and was approved! I think I'll be moving on the 5th April - my fiance is going to come over to the UK for a short visit and then we'll go back together :D Thank you for all your support these past months, I've really needed it. Can't believe that after 309 looong days, this is almost all over!

Lucy x

Congrats!!! Soooo happy for you. I am glad that this part of the process is over, on to the AOS and another 10 months. :hehe::o

Yes, took ages! It was a combination of Vermont being painfully slow last year + me going to visit my fiance for a month so I couldn't return the package 3 when I received it + the UK embassy taking 5 weeks to process it all! So many setbacks, but minor really compared to the setbacks many others have had. I'm just glad it went smoothly and I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

I hope AOS has been ok for those of you who have already started that process? Is it less stressful at least??

It is not as stressful, more paperwork, EAD/AP quickly received. But, you are together during this part, so it is not like K-1 at all. :star:

Thank you for all the advise guys I really appreciate it. It is nice to know how many people care about me and what they think of me.

However, I have done more research and this goes alot deeper...

Please, look at this new topic I created. Im really scared and I don't know what to do...

The truth I have discovered...

Do what you need to do to clear your name from her moral turpitude.

You're correct, she's the one who moved. We touched down on 3/13 around 8:20pm Pacific Time in Vegas, although we actually had POE in Boston the day before. We're recovering from the travel before we schedule our civil wedding and everything else.

Right now, she's sleeping with our dogs snuggled against her, and pretty soon I'll be headed back to get another nap. Long trip was long.

Congrats!!!!

So - for those who've already started AOS - does the AOS itself get involved with the name change if that's desired, or does it have to be changed via a different form?

Hi guys,

Long time no hear. Sorry I haven't got back to you, a lot has happened to me recently.

My fiancee has been lying to me all this time we have been together. I have found evidence that she has been living a lie and been lying to me for no reason. She lives her life under 3 different names, lying about her finances and her family. She has manipulated me to staying with her because she is alone and has no family. But she did not need to lie because I loved her anyway.

Did she lie about the cancer? I don't know. More importantly did she lie about sending off the petition? She will not say either way.

What I do know is that I had to break up with her, cancer or not, because she had no reason to lie and gave her plenty of opportunity to confess. She has yet to confess anything, and I doubt that she ever will. I have even offered to stay as friends to be there for her if she does have cancer, but she threw it back in my face and said either we are together or my death will be on your conscience (meaning she was going to kill herself).

Thus, I have no idea if this petition is in the pipeline. I did all that hardwork for nothing. But at least the truth is out (well, its not, but she has yet to prove anything to me about her ID, finances, doctor reports etc...). It has taken a while for me to come to terms to this.

I have lost my fiancee and best friend. I will always love her for who she is, not what she made herself to be.

I wish you all the best of luck in your future with your loved ones.

Brock, so very sorry to hear what happened to you (F) (F)

ahhh I said something one day too soon, we received a text notification in the early morning saying we got our case # whooo hoooo

Congrats (F) (F)

Interview: Success.

POE: Boston. Success.

Location: Las Vegas area. Arrived at 8:20pm Pacific Time.

In the next few days, legally getting married and then applying for AOS.

Ugh, it's been a long and tiring effort.

BrockUK, man, that's so horrible to hear - that's worse than my ex-girlfriend who screwed me over. I hope your life gets better, man - put her out of your mind, seal her away, and find someone who deserves your effort and affection.

Congrats on your wedding!! May you both have a long and happy life together (F) (F)

Whatever name you put on your paperwork is what they use.

Hi All!

Its been a while since I've been on here but I've been catching up on all the news! Congrats to all of you who have already gotten through the first part of AOS!

Congrat Kassil finally getting your lady over to the USA.

Sorry to hear about what happened BrockUK.

Getting ready to send off our AOS package. Kind of wanted a little break from paperwork when I first got here and then we've had a little problem with my birth certificate. I just priority mail order a new one from the U.K. so hopefully we'll be sending it off next week!

Good to hear from you AnnaLouise!

I hear ya on the paperwork, I don't want to see another USCIS form for....well, I guess it's 21 months now.

Update:

We had our AOS interview in Santa Ana on the 2nd and we were APPROVED!!

Jordan's EAD/AP card was approved on the 28th and is supposed to arrive tomorrow, not that it really matters at this point. We'll have the GC a week later. LOL

The process went really quickly for us.

I was ready to burn the huge folder I've created that has every document we've ever needed for this whole process but Jordan would let me. He said too much work went into it so I told him to put it where I didn't have to look at it. LOL

True Patty, might be a good idea to keep all that till after naturalisation or such. I've had enough of this limbo status, though I shouldn't complain, I'm here, I see him every day. I've been here now exactly 4 months!

I had my biometrics on Wednesday, and we are leaving Hawaii in 5 weeks, no longer going to Korea though, which I can't say that I'm upset about! even more so with all the tension over there. We are moving to a base near Nashville, TN, right on the Kentucky/Nashville border and hubby will be back in a hospital working in mental health again. He is thrilled, busy next 5 weeks and trying to make the most of my time left in Hawaii. Lots of sorting things out and packing to do, meanwhile I decided to take on 3 feral kittens from the SPCA to get them socialised and tame ready for adoption, keeping me busy!!

Kassil&Tierce, Yes, putting your married name on your AOS paperwork plays a part in the name change as you will then have an official government ID in your new name, so it makes it easier to go around and do other changes like SSN, then proceed with Drivers License in married name.

1 Year Later....

I was just thinking about how different things were 1 year ago. 5/11 was that horrible day that we learned Jordan could not enter the US and we had to cancel our plans for spending the summer together. 5/17 was the day I sent the K-1 package. I did it in 6 days...6 days of crying, stress, research, more crying, more research, discovering Visa Journey...lots more research, lots more crying after reading timelines, Igor's, etc. Then the sense of accomplishment turning to a sense of dread after reading all the things I might have screwed up. Ugh. Now I can sit back and smile that it's all behind us now.

Hope everyone is enjoying their lives TOGETHER with the one we waited for. Jordan is taking his driver's test today. He said his last step to becoming official. lol Hope he passes, he's only been driving for more than 35 years.

Things are going great for us, hope the same for everyone who supported me here!
