no real thoughts on the date, it depends on when we get approved really, if its November, then I'll try for POE early December, otherwise maybe wait till January - mostly due to work and bonus time - every penny helps since I won't be working for a few months. but plans will be simple, we'll hop on a flight to Vegas for a weekend - then have a few friends and family in Hawaii for a quiet celebration later. I'd be happy to just have us two, but I have a couple of friends and my cousin insisting. hang on.. whose wedding?:lol: really, I'm fine with obliging them as its a good excuse for them to visit.

what are your plans Pinkrlion?

Patty, organising sounds fun for you.. its nice though that his Mom is keen. :)

When my fiancee gets approved, we're definitely getting married in Vegas - I live in the area, after all! We're planning for the legal part ASAP, so we can file the AoS as quick as we can, and then we'll have a ceremony for family and friends later on. A few friends have already offered help with the wedding, and one tried to argue us into a Colorado wedding - we refused, because her idea of scenic locales tends to involve elevations that leave everyone else gasping for air. The hard part is that, as part of the Millennial generation, our friends are scattered all over the place, above and beyond the two countries we're from. Trying to wrangle everyone together is past tricky as a concept - likely we'll just take about a month and visit as many of them as we can on a honeymoon.

We were going to do the same, first to the courthouse for the legal part and then a ceremony for friends and family later. He will need to get his AP soon since he will need to leave the US to go back to work. However we decided to go ahead and just do the one wedding since we can use my friend's property for the ceremony and reception and wont require too much advance planning. I'd rather him be "stuck" here a little longer anyway :P

Haven't even thought about a Honeymoom!

We'll be doing the same also. At first, we were planning to just go straight from LAX/POE to Vegas. Now, after reconsideration, we'll go to Vegas right after going to SSA (10 days after arrival). :)

We planned for courthouse wedding as well then our moms guilted us into having the ceremony at my church. So now it is a small wedding with 10-20 guests with everything at my church. Which is fine, but his groomsmen will be the problem, as only one has a tourist visa. Since our wedding is so small, when I made inquiries for catering, cake, flowers, they all said call back, no contract needed. Which makes it very easy, if I need to change the date.

It's FRIDAY!! Anyone have any fun plans for the weekend?

It should be a quiet weekend for me. I need one as the last couple of months have been pretty crazy. Saturday I get to start the not-so-fun task of sorting through my parents things and cleaning out the house. I'm not looking forward to this.

Sunday is Canada day so I think I should celebrate by getting rid of stuff at my house and making room for my Canadian and his stuff.

Its Saturday already here. I've had a hectic few weeks too. my fiance was in Australia with me for a week, then the day he flew out, I had to fly to New Zealand for work for 2 weeks. I found out a few days earlier that I was going, I got back from New Zealand last night and I'm told I'll probably be back in NZ in a week.. for 4-5 months. so in doing that, I pretty much have to make attempts to pack up all my things, sell what I don't want to keep, ship to Hawaii what I plan on keeping but don't need now. so much to do. my brain is fried. I'm a little overwhelmed.

so thats the start of my weekend plans, listing furniture on ebay!

so I'm doing similar to you I guess Patty, cleaning out the house, though I imagine doing yours is going to be a little emotional.

Yeah, that's why I want to work on my own place on Sunday for a much happier reason. Saturday is going to be tough, I know it.

Wow, you much be going crazy with suddenly having to deal with packing up now.

I think staying busy is going to be the key to getting through these months of waiting....

I know.. and about a week to do it! I'm definitely going to be calling on favours from friends through this.

part of the reason I'm happy about taking the assignment in NZ is that its going to keep me busy and the time will fly. I'm also going to be living completely on expenses too so I'm going to save a ton of $$!!

It's getting close to having to go back to the UK, not looking forward to leaving my darling fiancée. =(

Happily, my parents bought her a return ticket to the UK for her birthday, so she'll be over with me from August to October. Right now, just hoping we manage to get a swift NOA2, very unlikely but we can always hope!

Hopefully since we'll be together for most of the "in-between" phase, it won't feel too much like endless waiting. Feels long enough already and it's only a month in!

I know how that feels. You have a long visit to look forward to in August though. I had to leave Canada the last time knowing that I wont see him again until Sept 9th. 64 more days, but who's counting. :crying: He goes back to work a week from tomorrow so the only way I will be able to see him is to take a cruise on his ship. I don't have enough vacation days to go any sooner.

I noticed on Igor's list that a couple March filers got their NOA2! Getting closer to May....
