Congratulations, omer1.

In other news, it looks like my petition is being sent to Paris instead of Lisbon. We were hoping this was going to be easy, but apparently we have to deal with one of my least-favorite cities in the world. (I've been there. It was not a pleasant stay. Looks like I'll have to break my vow to never return...)

Called NVC a couple of times in the past three weeks to see what was going on, each time the person speaking to us was extremely rude and told us that it hadn't been sent off.

Called today, and was told by a lovely supervisor sharing the same name as my fiancee that the case was forwarded on Nov 9, 3 days after NOA2 date.

Not sure what that's about.

Anyway, we have the LDN number now, so...something happens I guess?

Good luck to all you guys still waiting! Should be right around the corner!

What is LDN?

Good luck! Don't pass out!

LND means London, so it's not relevant in your case.

Congratulations, omer1.

Paris apparently handles a larger area than just France. Why, I dunno, since it really doesn't seem like it'd be that hard to have the capability at each embassy. I suppose there weren't enough Portuguese I-129Fs and I-130s for them to decide it was justified, even if the simple justification is "These people have been waiting for months now, let's not slow things down on them even further." The most frustrating part is that this is making me choose between being at the interview with my fiancee and a vow I swore to never go back to Paris. She wins out, but my aggravation and disgust at the process forcing me to go /there/ to bring my fiancee home from Portugal is huge.

Still - one way or another, we'll get through this mess, too, and she'll be able to come home for good.

I wonder why it was sent to France, and not Spain?? What a fiasco! I hope everything works out soon.

Yeah, it seems the best way forward is to take a deep breath and deal with the aggry. I really hope there's no more hurdles... (F) (F)

Wow had no idea, it would be sent to Paris. Yeah, I know what you mean about Paris. Toooooo many scam artists for me.

I think I read something about Portugal filers going to Paris somewhere - reviews or such, well at least its getting traction, just put on your rose coloured glasses and enjoy the romantic highlights of Paris and pretend its Disneyland or something. Its such a short time, and for a really good reason, you can handle it. All the sweeter when its done after all the ####### flung in your general direction.

Disneyland, hah!

I'll survive - she and I will do some geocaching while we're there waiting for them to deliver the visa. The part that's genuinely frustrating is that they say it'll take 7-10 working days to deliver it, and they'll only deliver it within France. That'll eat up most of my paid time off by itself; if I want to hang around Portugal with her, it'll end up with unpaid time off. Bleh.

I just caught up on all the activity here. Sounds like many are making progress! Congrats to those approved and those making it to the next step. Prayers for those still waiting, I'm sure it will be very soon.

I've been enjoying my visit here in BC. I've been meeting more of my fiance's relatives and just relaxing. Less than 24 hours to go for us. :o We have everything ready to go and feel confident with our package. I just want it to be over with. I'm tired of thinking about every little thing that could possibly go wrong.

Hopefully I'll be back here tomorrow posting our good news!
