Actually, we met via Twitter, due to a mutual friend and a web-game we all three play, called Fallen London. She introduced herself by correcting my calculation on how much something cost in the game, and we just never stopped talking. Geocaching is something I introduced her to, after tripping over it while poking around in the Android App Store.

Thats a great story, very unique. So many people meet via internet these days, one way or another, guess that's why this visa process has become so lengthy. *sigh*

now searching my android for geocaching app. hehe. not that I need another past time.

c:geo is free, but unless you pick up a premium membership on geocaching.com you'll only load the closest 20 caches without having to deal with a CAPTCHA image. (My fiancee, my mother, and I all have premium accounts - $30 for a year of full access to everything, plus supporting the site is cool.) I'd recommend, if you go looking, to search for some larger caches with lower terrain/difficulty ratings.

Unless you see something rated 1/1 or so in an urban area. In that case, look under the cover on the closest lamp post and there'll probably be a small bottle or a metal tin with a logbook.

Vicomi..careful with those police certificates..they have expiration dates..you dont want to get them too early.

Thanks for the info, Mateo&Raquel. Question: How long should Police Certificates be valid for???

I have dual nationality so I'm starting the police certificate process pertaining to my country of origin.

Hey Everyone!

Sorry... didnt read all the posts, I believe this is up to 17 pages! wow.gif

Anyways- glad to know we are all "suffering" together and not alone.. atleast in one form of the word!

I saw my fiance in January 2012 when he flew over here to ATL.. then he tried to come back in March for 3 weeks.. we were going to take a mini vaca and decide if K1 was better or get married.. have him return home and then we file that way.. but, lucky Erkan!! .. he got denied entry in washington after his 15 hour plane ride, 1200$ round trip ticket and an hour of interrogation !

Finally decided to file for the K1, got my NOA1 on May 4th...

Thankfully I was able to visit Vienna in early June for 2 weeks... funny thing was, I had a connecting flight in where else?? WASHINGTON!! lol. But, then I came back and for the first time in this long journey... I had a ton of depression and anxiety... I was hoping to be the stronger one and continue to keep all of the emotions even, but I guess it just got the best of me. Doing better now, but still feeling crazy! Seems like life just stops...

And here we all are now.. just waiting!

I have to admit, when I first filed, I said.. WOOHOO! Vermont! Now I am wishing I was at CSC! I know they take turns with slowing our lives down ;)

I'm so happy for everyone that already has been approved, but pretty envious too ;)

I know everyones life has its own path.. so I guess the time away is meant to teach us all something! Thank GOD for skype and and adult beverages! I guess I should add "friends" and family too. It's so funny.. I think in the most difficult and trying times of our lives, we really realize who our true friends are.. the people I can count on have deff. dwindled.. Anyone else have some of the same situations occur?

Sorry... ranting away. Just introducing myself in a way... hope everyone has a great week!

Jessica

Welcome Jessica!

No worries on the rant. That's why we are all here. No one understands our situtaion like the people who are in it too.

My guy was denied entry back in early May. It was an awful time for us. All our plans we had made for his visit had to be cancelled. It was horrible. But now that we are well on our way in the K-1 process, it's gotten much easier. I still miss him terribly, but I know it's only temporary.

Hang in there and feel free to come here and vent. We all understand.

Thanks Patty! I love this board.. great to talk to people with the same situationkicking.gif

Can I ask how you keep yourself busy? I have really run out of things!! I've been doing the most random things in preparation... about to start painting some rooms in my house... that will probably piss him off though since I am the WORST painter and I've really butchered the walls laughing.gif More reason to do it right? HAHA.

I really hope we all get some progress soon! Can I ask where he was denied at? Just curious. When I went through Washington-Dulles they all seemed unpleasant.. then again, they all are and maybe I'm just a tad biasedlaughing.gif

Fortunately, or unfortunately I have so much stuff going on in my life right now that keeping busy hasn't been a problem. Within the last year I lost both my Mom and Dad so I've been having to clear out the house they lived in for over 53 years. Not fun. My Dad passed less than a month after Jordan was denied. yeah, this year has sucked.

I also have started working out quite a bit and that helps me when I'm feeling down.

He was not actually denied, but "allowed to withdraw his application for admission" which is better from what I understand. He was at the airport in Vancouver. At least he didn't travel first, but he did eat the cost of the ticket. I was just leaving work to pick him up at the airport when he called. I'm wondering how he is calling me from the air. Well, he never made the flight. I remember just being shocked "what do you mean you can't come??" For 5 months we had planned his vacation here.

If you read through the thread you will see that he actually got to visit for 12 days in June.

I really need to get moving on getting my house in order. I have a feeling that time will be passing quickly now.

She is doing ok considering. Kinda got upset with her when she said that she lost her NOA1 letter (she still hasnt given me the reference number so I can check up on our status online). I know its not her fault though, just frustrating not knowing where we are on the system and its not like I can call and ask ("Sorry sir, I can only give that information to the petitioner..."ARRRRRRGH!!!!) .

Sad thing is is that its her birthday on Thursday (23 years young!), but I am still waiting to get paid to afford to go and see her, so I am really upset and disappointed that I won't surprise her for her birthday (I used my last ammount of savings to pay for her medications. I'd rather her be alive than in serious trouble!).

But thank you for your kind thoughts. I am hoping she receives an NOA2 letter soon just like the rest of us are still waiting.

Congratulations on those who have received it!
