After getting my work authorization last December,I finally got a job at a retail store.I am so nervous ,because this is my very first time working. If my immigration status was fixed when I had just arrived in the US as a child,I would now have work experience. But Im in my 20's and it feels like life has just begun.Im not sure if I could do this job.I will be dealing with customers and im not so much of an extrovert.I have been a stay at home mom for 3 years and graduated from college 4 years ago.I haven't had much contact with the outside world  My soon to be manager said he wants his employees to smile .Well I dont smile often :hehe: :hehe: and I blame that on life's blows.Advice or uplifting words, anyone ??

Well...SMILE! It doesn't matter if you do it often, if that is what your employer wants, then that's what he/she should get

Other advice, always arrive on time, never complain about your job at work or to your co-workers, and have fun!

Congrats on the job

My advice? Don't try being something other than who you are. Be yourself.

Enjoy your job. Find out the good things about what you are doing and get to know the people you will be working with. At the end of the day, if you're not enjoying what you do, you're in the wrong job.

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself

I hope I enjoy it because I need the money ! I never worked a day of my life and I think it will feel great to earn my own money for once. Its always noticeable when people aren't being themselves but then again, sometimes you just want to feel accepted and fit in.The best thing to do is be yourself though and everything will fall into place.
