Been talking with relatives who came over near the same time as my wife. they did not file the I-765 or I-131. they did not read the guides here on VJ or the instrucitons on the I-485 well.

Their Conditional GC have taken a lot longer then posted on here. One is taking from November until July (USCIS told her it would be issued in July, do not know how true this statement is). The other is filed in December, had her biometrics and unknown when to be issued yet. Neither live in a state with a local office. (local office is in another state.) Neither filed I-765 or I-131. Anyone heard of this timelines? Don't see any timelines on here for something like this. Just thought I would ask.

Whether or not they filed for EAD or AP has nothing to do with their overall AOS timeline. No one can give a future approval date, so July appears to be a guess.

each case has it's own spot in the queue, so bear that in mind when yer trying to calculate any calendar event.

Gretchen and her relatives have just been comparing notes. The fact we actually LIVE in a town with a local USCIS office while the other two do not sometimes makes questions. I doubted the one saying July, but Gretchen insists her ralative was told it would be issued in July. this may be form the Biometrics regarding her interview date or something when she was told. I do not know the circumstances of how she was told. So a little confused myself. It is true each case is handled in a different way and timeline in each local office. I was just wondering does a case take longer if you live in an area where your local office is in another state. I know there are some areas in the midwest and southeast where it appears the local office is in another state.

local offices do not count when adjusting from a K-1,

unless the casefile is pegged for a local interview by the national office or the national service center (there are two) .

even then, there are queues.

why are you hung up on local offices? That's the end game, a local interview, and the decision is made at a national level prior.

What's up ?

Not hung up on it.... just curious is all...I learned a lot from VJ and it helped me thorugh this whole process. Besides all the time I spend studying the process and learning the Centers, the problems, and other issues.

just they did not know to file the I765 and I-131 with the I485. Probably because of not reading the directions well.... but just found it curious is all.... to take maybe 9 months or longer for AOS. I know there are times when things take some time. Nothing new there. just curious. the only "dumb" question is the question you don't ask. Of course sometimes until you ask the right question the right way, you never know the problem existed either or had exactly the right answer.
