I just stumbled upon this site and I am very pleased. I have filed for a K1 for my fiance living just outside Manila. My application's official receipt date is 2/6/12. We are waiting patiently. She has a nephew and we are concerned about his well being. His father is unknoow. His mother's husband will not him live with them. Her nephue lives far away in Leyte with various family members. His life is difficult. We would like to bring him to the US to live with us so he will have a better life. Would any of you care to share some options with me? Thank you

No there is not.

Sorry OP, but there is little you can do; even if you were to adopt him in the Phils, you'd need to live two years with him there before he could immigrate with you and your then-wife to the USA. Your options are to petition his mom one your wife is a US citizen (takes many years), to try and get him an F1 student visa (he'd need to go back once it runs out, you need to pay fees even if he goes to a state school of $20'000+ a year), or, in my view probably the best option. and cheapest too- pay for him to have a good live back home, maybe in a boarding school.

set him up in a private catholic school in the PI, one that boards.

Pay monies directly to the school (that bit is important)

Good Luck !

[no, not really much more to do, than this, alas]

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yes....good idea. Because the schools in Phil are not very expensive. I have my son in a private Christian English school.

i have good ideas on occassion - this is one of them.

in the short term, this gets him out of his terrible living condition (whatever it is) and in the long term, he gets a quality education.

With a quality education, he can work in the PI for a decent wage, heck maybe even get accepted at UNI .

Yeah....I have been to Philippines many times. Many people struggle there. It is a poor country with an extremely corrupt and greedy government. If the offer was made to me to go to a private school, I would definately jump at the chance.

UNI...???
