Assets are only considered if they are convertable to cash within a year. a property, especially one in FL, may not qualify currently because houses there are languishing on the market so there is no guarantee he could raise cash by selling.

Oh my! What should we do then? But will still try.

Don't worry about what was said about the Florida market, its not the embassy's job to determine market activity, they will look at the appraisal and you will be fine.

it will affect it sideways - as a bankruptcy court judge has the option to suggest or demand (depending) that the filer liquidate his assets to pay.

it's an option for the judge to decide.

so if the assets are seized, then there are no assets to use on the I-134.

Varying opinions, i posted this in the K1 forum, not regional. And answers were: it will not affect the petition, nothing to worry. Also, the petitioner asked a lawyer and she said it will not affect. But in my opinion, it has an effect. Oh, i really don't know how things work there in the US. But thanks for replying although this is another topic.
