Seems like that tax consultant is part of the problem. If he thinks the returns are fraudulent then he shouldn't prepare the returns for the illegals. If he didn't prepare the returns then how did he get copies of them?

he reported all to the IRS, and I agree, he's part of the problem.

but guess what? if he didn't do it, someone else would have.

fees for prepping tax returns is important, that's how tax consultants get their monies.

Yeah I live in Carrollton and don't see anything like that around here. I think my wife faces more racism from Thais here for getting here after they did. She's had a few incidents like that. There was a restaraunt in Irving where the Thai owner had her in tears.

She also faced racism in Thailand for being from the Northeast poor part, even though she moved to Bangkok as a teenager and went to high school there.

ya, that poster - they're not a mixed couple (like my wife and I are) so is different for their 'type' here in Plano.

as for the grunt at the resturant - I've no idea, except if you two are a mixed couple like us - it can be brutal when jealousy kicks in .

Thai food in Irving? [perks up a bit] ..

It wasn't that great in Irving.

There are two places here in DFW that I've found that are damn close to original Thai. Sawasdee Ka on Campbell in Richardson, not far from you. And Simply Thai in Grand Prairie.

We're pretty close to the family that owns the one in GP, but that's a hike for you.

Sorry for OT post.

This tax consultant has violated his obligations of practice before the Internal Revenue Service by knowingly preparing tax returns that are fraudulent. If I knew who he was I would be looking to impose sanctions on him.

I saw this on the football forums yesterday. The illegals can't drain this country dry quick enough yet the politicians do nothing. It's another reason why this country needs a good house cleaning.

Interesting. I haven't been on the football forum in a while, but if I recall correctly, I used to go there to talk about football.

The real problem is the IRS allows (with the aid of the fools in congress) the scam to go on. They'd look rather silly imposing sanctions on a tax practitioner when they have a glaring report from the IG outing them.

You could actually say the people who buy the cheap meat and produce are the real problem(s). Anyone who complains about government not doing anything about illegal immigration should go ahead and vote with their wallet. Don't buy from companies that hire illegals and there won't be any illegals.

The system wouldn't be what it is if it wasn't supported from the ground up.

How can you possibly know who hires them? Is there a registry somewhere?

It is not my responsibility to personally verify all the numbers or statements given to me by a client. I have no obligation, legal or ethical, to audit your return. This is up to the IRS, if they so choose. I am simply preparing the return, to the best of my ability, “based on information supplied by the client”.....from an accounting website.

You will be held responsible for your return, even if it is prepared by someone else.

I know some companies who do. Here in Colorado, you risk a felony libel charge if you say anything bad about the food industry so I'm not going to name any here, but I could. I see reports on immigration raids on the news and in the paper all the time.

If people were that concerned about it, they could come up with a list. Boycott one or two companies and the message would start to be heard. All the complaining about illegals is hypocrisy. People have shown they would rather have cheap food.

Your sarcasm detector needs new batteries. <_<

I've defended AZ SB 1070 here countless times, smiled when Alabama shot down the racial profiling argument by arresting a Mercedes exec, and argued for Washington, Democrat and Republican, to go after the companies employing illegal aliens to suffer prohibitive financial consequences when caught.

The cost to this country, in financial terms, in terms of creating a society that thinks some jobs are "beneath them", in terms of consistency of law enforcement, in terms of exploitation of the vulnerable and desperate, is too high. And as time passes, it will only get higher.

Save the batteries -- maybe a new detector altogether. :o

That's a typical "community based" solution to a legal issue. Let's send out flyers.

Maybe because folks have bought into the pro-illegal alien movement lie that we need illegal aliens in the ag industry, there are studies that show the labor component is a very small part of the cost of food as a result of utilizing illegal alien labor.

Excellent observation. But most people would really rather complain and argue about issues than actually DO anything that makes sense. You are absolutely correct. Corporations are about profit. If people put their money where their mouths are... it would affect profits. I LOVEEEE Hersheys. But they just cut some 2500 jobs and are moving operations to Mexico.
