I 'tolerate' people doing many things I disapprove of. Especially if they will at least do it out of my area of immediate awareness. I am NOT inclined to accept it if someone plays such music in my immediate vicinity. I will either say something if I think it is safe to do so or I will leave! Don't you do the same? When I say that society tolerates it I mean to say that we tolerate knowing that such music and speech occurs and would not have government try to make it illegal. I will not personally tolerate having to listen to it. I probably have without realizing it but I often do not understand whatever it is they are saying. If it is being played by any entity with which I think I have influence I will use that influence to request they cease playing it. What else can one do without jeopardizing our free speech rights?

While one may question the intelligence of suspending a 6 year old, it is notable that the lyrics of the song, and of other songs of the genre themselves go unchallenged by women's organizations. Seems that Rush Limbaugh was much more severely brought to task for saying much less offensive things...need we mention Don Imus, Howard Stern, Bill O'Rielly, Sean Hannity?
