Good Evening Everyone,

I wanted to give you all an update on my situation from my last posting on March 21st, 2012.

I went to see my man a week ago. It was such a great trip such as what we would do here in the states. I was able to spend alot of quality time with his mother whom I adore, his father, sister, brother, uncles, and the rest of the family. His parents sat us down and spoke to us and asked what were our intentions for each other and believe it or not we both answered boldy and securely. His parents and my mother all gave us their blessings. We were able to do something that I hold dear which is spending time in God's presence around God's people at his church.

I know one person asked does he work; yes, he is a teacher during the day and attending one of the local universities in the evening from m-s.

I have decided I will proceed with the K-1 fiance visa. Now, could someone itemized for me exactly what should I put in the I-129F packet vs the other packets??

I ask because the VJ'ers on here have provided such wonderful advice, information, and guidance to others. I want to do this properly and in order.

So Far I have:

1. My birth certificate/his birth certificate

2. My passport copy/his passport copy

3. I-129F form

4. $340.00 money order for the process

3. 2 passport pics of him/2 passport pics of me (WHERE DO U GET THE ALIEN # to put on the pic from????)

4. Phone records for me/Phone records for him

5. Yahoo messages

6. Pictures

7. Letter of Intent from both of us (signed)

8. Letters of Parental support from my mom & his dad (signed)

9. G-325A for me & him (signed)

10. Copies of my boarding pass and expenses in GH

11. Copies of how we met from me and him

Does anything need to be notarized?

Also, I've seen I-134, tax returns, etc.... When is all of this paperwork necessary??

For those who've experienced the interview process if your fiancee has been denied a visa(tourist) before would you recommend me preparing to go to the interview with him??

Should I mail it to: UCIS lockbox in Dallas,TX or the office in Lewisville,TX???

I'm praying God's blessings over this process as well as the joy of hearing your advice, information, experiences, and insight.

Thank you!

You don't need a copy of his birth certificate or passport for the petition. You need a letter of intent from both of you with original signature. He doesn't get an alien number until after noa2 (petition approval). Tax info is for the interview. You don't have to get anything notarized, but we both made statements about how we met and I had mine notarized. Make sure you send the I129f form with an original signature, not a copy. Send it to the Dallas lockbox. Petition gets forwarded to the correct service center from there. Good luck.

When sending it in, I would try to organize them in order of the guide, also for this stage you just need to prove you have met in two years so you really do not need a ton of evidence- boarding pass and pictures are enough, you can front load but not necessary. Focus on what you need, that everything is checked, signed, and filled out according to the form's instructions. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

Does anything need to be notarized? Nothing needs to be notarized, never send originals of anything unless specifically stated. Anything that needs to be official should be certified. Notary only means you signed it not check the content of the letter or paper.

Also, I've seen I-134, tax returns, etc.... When is all of this paperwork necessary?? At the embassy for interview. Ghana REQUIRES Tax Transcripts! So make sure you have those and letter of employment, if you need a co-sponsor they need all documents as well (and proof of citizenship or residency in the USA)

For those who've experienced the interview process if your fiancee has been denied a visa(tourist) before would you recommend me preparing to go to the interview with him??

B1/2 is a very different process all together. If you have evidence showing communication spanning the relationship and that is ongoing, visit(s) (family), call records, skype, yahoo and all of that there should be no issues. I didn't attend, some do, but it is not required for a K-1.

If there was a big red flag (Criminal Record) on why they were denied figure out if its grounds for denial for a K-1 if it was not being able to show ties to Ghana then there really should be no issue since this is a non-immigrant to immigrant visa not just a visitor visa.

My now husband's advice- know everything that is on the forms, have them organized in piles (1. forms required, 2. Medical and Police Certificate, 3. evidence, 4. I-134 and supporting doc) and be calm. The people he saw being denied were unorganized, missing papers, and nervous. It was obvious that they didnt have a site like VJ to work with.

Should I mail it to: UCIS lockbox in Dallas,TX or the office in Lewisville,TX???

For U.S. Postal Service:

USCIS

P.O. Box 660151

Dallas, TX 75266

For Express mail and courier deliveries:

USCIS

Attn: I-129F

I'm praying God's blessings over this process as well as the joy of hearing your advice, information, experiences, and insight.

Thank you!

Thank you everyone. I am really starting to thoroughly enjoy this site. We have decided to post-pone filing the paperwork to late August/early September of this year due to his school at the local university. If he does not complete university until August of 2013, when would you think to file?

Could someone tell me what the process is like once the visa is approved?

Thanks.

Ghana has been averaging about a year (from petition to interview) since 2010. Things change slightly over time. But if you file in August, you also get 6 months to use the visa from issue date so you should be all set. There however is not a 100%, but i don't see things speeding up that quickly.

After approval, it seems to be right now a month before picking up the visa and from there you book a ticket and he comes.... thats the easy part :)

After he gets here, follow the Adjustment of Status information. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

After all of that you get almost two years of freedom before the next step.
