Hi,

My brother recently arrived in the US and he would like to come back to his previous country for an extended period of time.

If he files for reentry permit, how long will can he stay outside of the US? Does the time allow outside of the US depend on the reason you give them? How long does it take from the time filing out the reentry permit to the time you actually receive permission?

Thanks

Let your brother visit/call the USCIS and inform USCIS of his intention- as what I have heard he can tell the USCIS that he wants to go back home for a couple of months due to unfinished official business...most likely it will be approved..
