It is bad for F2A categories. H.R.3012 is for both EB and FB categories, eliminate country quotas for EB and increase country quotas for FB categories to 15% from current 7%. The news that Se. Grassley has lifted hold on HR3012 is not fully confirmed.

Also remember that 85% of all available F2A numbers are not subjected to current 7% country quota rule. Has this been implemented most of the countries would be current especially few countries such as Mexico, philippines, etc..

off topic-

Does any one know of H.R. 3012 bill (mainly for employment based) which would also affect family based categories? However, it seems Senator Grassley had lifted hold on H.R. 3012. May be it's good news for f2a's in the coming months!

I'm not even sure what "H.R.3012" is. But since it did sound bad to most family categories I googled it. It seems the supposed lift is false and a rumor. So we are good!

From the little bit I understood, this bill seems to be only good for Mexico/Philippines in family-based categories and India/China in employment-based. Everyone else will suffer from it.

Congratulations Mrs PJ.....

Looking forward to seeing my husband one day also

Good luck and congratulations once again

Thank you very much my dear and you surely will have your husband with you one day. This painful situation gotta have an end. I was the first one who came up with the good news by calling DOS. My husband interview is scheduled for July, but I still don't receive any email nor letter yet. Therefore, I can have my husband go do his medical and police cerificate. Anyway, we have much of our paper work ready. Please pray for me that his interview goes well. I know God is with us....
