Since fiance visa denied we are thinking our best option is me going to Morocco to get married. I have read what i need as far as doc. I read where it looks like getting married can take 2-5 weeks. Also i think Ramadan is July 19th thur aug 21st or close to that so i need to avoid those date. Due to work and kids and money i want to spend as little time there as possible only because of work and money and kids. ( i have been there 4 times in two years includeing just this April for interview ) My biggest question is can i go there like the end of aug and start some of the paper work ( like casa info and get my entry date stamp) than can i leave to come home for a week beginning of sept to get my kids to off to the start of school, than fly back to Morocco to finish and get married? Is there restrictions that way do you know? any help would be so greatly appreciated. thank you Visajourney people for all you do.

P.S. any additional information on getting married there would also be appreciated.

Everyone had the option to appeal the k1 decision and being on VJ you should have empowerment from knowledge of what to do...why did you not take that route?

I think you should have this topic moved to the MENA forum, where a lot more people who have experience with this will be able to answer you.

Where does your fiance live? What part of Morocco? I think it depends on where your fiance lives that will determine how quickly you can get everything done. Also, getting things scanned to your fiance and translated ahead of time will expedite the process. We were able to get married in two weeks in Casa.

Beyond all that, do you know the reasons for denial of the K1? Until those issues are addressed, getting married won't be the be-all, end-all solution to the problem.

If you have red flags, what are they, and have they been addressed sufficiently?

Re: your question about going, coming back, and going again to finish the process - your fiance should find out exactly the procedures in his town/city, etc. They can be slightly different in different areas. And, he should be able to find out the answer to that question.

Everyone had the option to appeal the k1 decision and being on VJ you should have empowerment from knowledge of what to do...why did you not take that route?

What appeals procedures for the K1 are you talking about?

With my personal experience ... I would have attempted to appeal (for lack of better words) the "soft denial" if I had the knowledge of what really goes on with the 221g back in July 2011.

Supposedly we have a right to approach the decision with in (90 days?) before they let it expire, right?

It might have be a futile attempt but it also could have saved me this waiting time apart.

So before her K1 is left to expire this is what I was writing about.

The money spent on my visits to my husband could have went to our future HERE at this moment within a new family

hence the question.

Just trying to help a person going through what seems I went through.

We got married in Morocco July of 2010 and the paperwork start to finish and getting married took exactly 10 days. It all depends on how you plan it and who you know to assist you to get the paperwork done. Make sure he goes to the family courts and asks for a list of what is required in his city to get married to a non-moroccan. Get that list and make sure you get the documents needed from the USA. I have a list I used in 2010 in english and arabic and would be happy to share it if you PM me, but that was from his city which is Taza and was almost 2 years ago and I dont know if anything has changed since then.

I echo the same thing, find out what is required in his location and be well prepared. The only thing I have seen a difference now that may have been easier in years past is that as stated earlier if you knew someone that was willing to help you, you could get things done fast. There is a newly elected government and from what I gather alot of officials are no longer willing to help as much because they have gotten in trouble for what was common practice in the past.

Good luck,

You need to appeal the K-1 decision as soon as possible. If it needs be, you need to contact your Congressman and ask for help. If you want to marry your fiancé in Morocco, just send him all the papers he needs then you can make an arrangement later when the marriage is ready to be singed.

Good luck

USICS wont give me any information because i will be getting letter they say. Its been a month. Do i have to wait to contact my cogressman?? Since i dont have anything yet in writting showing denied. It feels like they are just sugar coating it and i cant get straight answers or told to wait. til when?? thanks again

so your file was sent back to uscis as well? mine too I contacted the congressman and the consulate immediately and my fiance was told it was going to expire and we should just get married I honestly would love to fight it in the k1 state but I am afraid of the fact that they let it expire could you please shed some light on that for me because it is super confusing and seems you went through this this year as things seem to change year to year as well.

Hi

Yes Back in July 2011, my then fiance was denied. I was lost and devastated and then Found VJ.

In answering suggesting to the OP on here....It was less than a month that OP got denied and I was suggesting to give it a shot.

Only speaking from my experience and what I have read on VJ from others in the same situation....They never contact the beneficiary once it goes back..as stated, so I had no idea of what to do. Then in October(?) I received a poorly recopied letter that stated since nothing was done with this case we are closing it. I was already in Morocco and married by then.

So without saying what one can assume....there is something amiss with the way they chose to handle the fraud problems. I believe my husband and I were simply collateral damage within the just battle against the fraudulent cases going through CASA.

They have a very important job to do and I had seen in the consulate that day of my husbands interview it is still going on.

It was a very big lesson learned for us, indeed.

If I had the knowledge of what I have now back then..I would have pursued the k1 until they deny or reinstate. That was my suggestion to OP. Still would.

I hope this helps clear things up... please pm me if there are more questions. I really want to help
