I'm sorry if posted in the wrong place but I could not find this answer anywhere, hopefully somebody will be able to help. Anyway, out of curiosity, where/how/when can I get a U.S passport? Example, right now my AOS is pending, waiting for the GC but have EAD, will I ever need or receive a U.S passport? Let's say if I want to travel outside U.S after I get this first GC, wouldn't I need also a passport? Do I use my old one, get a new one from my home country or one here?

I'm just so curious about it, so please shed some light? If I ever need one, how/when/where/why do I get one? If I do not need one, what do I do in case I want to travel outside U.S? Old passport or just GC? lol this might sound silly but I really want to know, thanks!

Read the N-400 US citizenship guide. You do not get a US passport until you become a US citizen.

You have 3 years after becoming a LPR before you can apply - you need to look into removal of conditions guides for after your 2 year card expires.

If you want to travel you use your green card and you own passport from your own country.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

Carolina, if you want to get a new passport with your new name, you can do it at the Brazilian Consulate from your area in the US. If you have your previous one to show them, you pay U$80.00, here is the Brazilian Consulate website from Texas, the rules must be the same everywhere http://houston.itamaraty.gov.br/pt-br/passaporte_para_adultos_-_pedidos_apresentados_por_via_postal_ou_por_terceiros.xml
